Good find, yes it looks the same as the one in the other tailor photos I was talking about. No idea if it's the one from the film but it does seem similar.
That bit is quite clever. It’s not lenticular, it’s a couple of small discs (almost) and the back one moves with the second hand. So Bond is exposed as the second hand moves around and moves the swirl disc around and exposes Bond shooting. Hence the hypno pattern. It’s difficult to explain. And I’ve not done it well.
No, I see how that works, that is clever. The way the handler was moving the watch in that clip made it look lenticular with the frames changing from the angle you view it from, but that is much cleverer. The spiral must be die cut which allows sections of the animation disc to be revealed as it moves. It's the same principle to lenticulars in that it requires the animation frames to be sliced into lots of sections (spiral sections in this case I guess), but a different method of revealing and hiding them, using a kind of venetian blind rather than a lens.
You see things like Ernest Borel cocktail watches from the 50s using rotating spirals to create hypnotic patterns on the dial, but it's a neat application to play an animation.

Pictures made this look garish and horrible and something that could only be justified in the baking heat within the confines of GoldenEye but I was lucky to try a few things on wrist recently and there it made a lot more sense, the stones a lot subtler and the dial, which hasn't photographed well, was fascinating to watch change in angles and light.
Finally completed my James Bond DC era watch collection with the NTTD Ti Seamaster.
I have had weird relationship with this watch and I put it off for years because I could not justify the cost (and I thought they had screwed it up by not going broad arrow hands like true mil spec watches). But an opportunity too good to be miss came up and I went for it at least to complete my set. Jury is still out to be fair but I do feel my collection is complete (for now).
I am missing two main players but the 45mm PO from Casino Royale is too big for my wrist and larger AT from Spectre can wait for now as I have the Skyfall version. But as always I will keep an eye open.
So for now I am done.
Cheers 😄
My name is Bond, Basildon Bond - I have letters after my name!
Thanks yes I have the same issue my watch came with the standard medium bracelet. There are actually 3 sizes and I have tried a small on this watch a few weeks ago. It fitted better with less excess strap and centered the clasp on my wrist as well (but means me forking out another 1.2K! Mine is on the third hole from the watch and means the excess bracket is the same length as the clasp doubling née trebling the thickness and touching the bracket on the other side rubbing it and distorting the shape a little.
This watch has been like marmite for me I hated it for the afore mentioned reason, started to like it, hated it and have now warmed to it enough to purchase at the price I did but still wouldn’t at the full price is just me.
Cheers 😀

Seems funny to see him in jeans!
New Omega Seamaster James Bond 60th Anniversary Edition….
Got to love hypno-Bond there. Don't stare at him too long.
Oh it’s not what I thought: he’s a little lenticular doing the walk. Not sure why it needs the hypno pattern really, but okay

Yeah, that’s it.
Does anyone know if Connery's brown croc strap with his Rolex in his first few films would've been shiny or matte?
It’s difficult to be 100% sure, but it looks to have originally been a shiny strap that was worn to a satin finish.
I think you’re probably right…
Is this another new movement?

Mr Craig finally managed to get one 😂
And it's the one that had complaints of the dye coming off 😂
Been wearing my Omega Planet Ocean XL all day today. My first Omega piece and had to honor my favorite Bond film - Casino Royale.

Wear with pride. The original Planet Ocean is just perfect in my eyes (but I am biased - QoS 42mm model ;-)
I saw that WMT watches are doing this Goldfinger watch homage, and I think it's a pretty fun way to do it

Would you mind showing off the box? I've been quite intrigued from what I've read but I haven't seen it anywhere
I do like the sort of 'hidden' catch thing with the gunbarrel circle, nice touch.
It's been a while and I've finished a (non-Bond) related watch project that is very close to my heart!
I've even been interviewed by one of the big watch publications, I am now famous 😂

I was always curious to see what the NTTD bracelet would look like on my Ti PO’s and the NTTD SMP on a Grey NATO
Enjoy
Cheers 😀
Thanks for the info on the different size bracelets! What size wrist are you?
