Higgins, as I'm new round hear and may have missed any info previously posted regarding the Sub you pictured above; may I ask, is that a vintage 'big crown' Sub, or a modern one customised with the crown protectors removed?
Cheers......Skippy

A question for the watch fiends - is there a US alternative to Watchfinder? Watchfinder was incredibly helpful and quick to reply, but they will only accept a bank transfer from the States. Who's reliable on this side? Anyone dealt with Portero?

A transfer may be a better way to go rather than a credit card if you can afford it. Certain places will offer a percentage discount for transfer.

Not a watch but have received it from a friend from Sweden.
You should have heard my wife screaming when she saw it ) ) ) ) ) ) )
I don't dislike the platinum insert YM as much as most, but it was around the time that they released this, that high polished cases and flats came into effect at Rolex. So I'd set it for 30 seconds and walk away.
Just affixed my new "Spectre" Nato strap onto my "CR" Seamaster 300M.
Kind regards,
Craig
Very nice Craig, I'm thinking of getting a strap myself - how easy was it to affix yourself? Did you need any special tools to get the old bracelet off? Thanks
Japanese proverb say, "Bird never make nest in bare tree".
I had my local Omega boutique remove the bracelet and attach the strap. There is a special tool needed to remove the pins to take off the bracelet and then re-attach for the strap. I think with a bit of practice it would be easy. But it's a service Omega provides free of charge, so I didn't want to risk scratching the casing or bracelet. If you're near an Omega boutique, I highly recommend letting a pro do it.
Anybody got any love for or experience of the Tudor Pelagos?
I know it's not a Submariner but I like the more contemporary look of it, coupled with the titanium case and bracelet and helium escape valve.
Altogether, I think it looks a quality, understated timepiece.
I have. I really like it, the hands hark back to the French military issue Tudor Submariner and I love the matt dial, numerals and bezel. I think that watch would look wonderful on a Bond Nato.
I agree, would look great on a NATO. It's not an overly expensive watch all things considered.
"Any of the opposition around..?"

Indeedy. If I had to choose between that and the new SM300, then the Omega wouldn't even get a seconds thought. The Pelagus is much more of a nod to the 60's watches than the blingy things being made by Breitling, Omega et al.
Agree. I would say the Seamaster 300 and Pelagos are direct competitors, especially as they're the same price.
Although I like the Omega, I think the Tudor offers something a bit different. With all the incarnations of the SM300, it's getting confusing.. I have a feeling the Pelagos will appreciate greatly over the next few years, especially in price.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Thank goodness, the YM is not one of Rolex's finest moments.

Just another chilly 80 degrees day in Florida.
Kind regards,
Craig

I have one as many others do. Fun watch. Looking forward to putting a black grey Omega Nato on it.

You can preview how your Omega will look with a variety of NATOs, such as the AT Master Co-axial mega gauss
This watch make go well together wih my trainers:
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Stunning, incredible, visually jaw dropping...Bond should wear one!
nobody believes you. tell us what you really think :v but be prepared for the consequences

Oh... and I'm holding back.

That doesn't even deserve an answer. I'd sooner wear your old trainers than wear a fake.
