I am a big fan of 116610 as I like the new slide clasp and ceramic bezel etc. If you can afford to keep both I would do but the 16610 will probably bring anything from around 3-4 K depending on condition, box and papers , provenance etc. As Higgins quite rightly says if its been polished to death over the years and the lugs are thin, get rid. If its just an honest watch with a few battle scars I would keep it. This is based simply on the fact that I have regrettted selling every watch that I ever did. Sold stuff for next to nothing that would be worth a few quid now. Post some pictures of the 16610 and let us have a look, it might help you out on your decision.
By the way, forgot to mention that Biver is also the man supposedly responsible for putting an Omega on Mr Brosnan's wrist...
not sure if that's true.
As far as I know, Mr Hayek and Mr. Urquhart pushed the deal forwards.
Yeah I was just going on Hodinkee's reporting :"Biver is as both a businessman and a collector. He is a master marketer (we could dedicate another entire video to his work there – putting an Omega on James Bond in the early '90s, for example) and while his decisions at times can upset some pure watch lovers, there is no doubt, he is, at the core of it, just like us. "
That's why I said 'supposedly' as I had also heard a different story before, and I can imagine him blowing his trumpet about it - nothing against the man, he has certainly achieved a lot, but I've heard sometimes prone to embellishment....
I've had the pleasure to meet Biver on several occasions during his Blancpain times.
A charismatic man with a lot of wit and knowledge - nobody can resist his charm.

Thanks for the info guys. "you blow" and "porthole" it is!
It's interesting what you say about Hublot and AP. I was killing some time (no pun intended) in Watches of Switzerland a week or so back and they had them both next to each other in the display cases. I thought then that they looked very similar. -{
Ummmm... At the risk of stating the obvious....
You buy a watch with the band attached. You can find these easily, pretty much anywhere and remove the band/strap. Watches without the strap are harder to find.
Does anyone know where to find watches without the band? Particularly a Rolex Sub case?
They don't show up too often and there are no particular places to look for them.
But you should rather buy a strong cased Sub with bracelet instead of a polished down watch without bracelet.
Single bracelets reach pretty good results on ebay when sold alone.

Thanks Higgins and Uncle. It is a weird thing to ask but I already have 2 Rolex oyster bands that I would like to put to good use.
The pic is really bad, but the watch looks wrong.
At least the bracelet is fake.
I've never seen paint loss on a GMT 24 hr hand like this on a genuine Rolex.
How is the handstack of your watch - where is the GMT hand?
Underneath the hour hand or above?
If you turn the crown clockwise, are the hands moving clockwise or anticlockwise?

Wish I could find a new old stock one of these!
Amazing watch. One of my top 3 most wanted. What is the lume on that thing? I've had a hard time getting good details on this watch.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
But he has taste and you have those....those...hideous trainers X-(
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Still, tastier than your trainers )
Thank you! I have to say it is quite stunning.
Here is the two oyster bracelets I have. I don't think they are the riveted bracelets.
And none of them is riveted

And the older bracelet I'm almost certain is real because it was off my gmt which is getting a coa by Rolex right now. But I may be wrong )
