My Rolex GMT II and All Saints Iggy cords.

The pic is really bad, but the watch looks wrong.
At least the bracelet is fake.
I've never seen paint loss on a GMT 24 hr hand like this on a genuine Rolex.

How is the handstack of your watch - where is the GMT hand?
Underneath the hour hand or above?
If you turn the crown clockwise, are the hands moving clockwise or anticlockwise?
I know the picture is blurry but the hand stack is the proper stack. As for he hand... The hands are being replaced with the coa being done. It is a genuine Rolex we have had it for decades and had it services multiple times by Rolex.

    Love that :x

The black version with white/cream dials at 6 and 9 is still on my list.

    Thanks -{

The 3714 is a classic, so most dial variants are pretty nice....

Whats the story on keeping these old digital beasts running Higgins??

Had so many die on me when I was young :)

Well, there is no real secret.

Some of the circuit boards simply die over the years.
The larger threat are empty batteries, which leak and destroy a lot when still kept inside of the watch.

For that reason, I am storing most of my Seikos with batteries removed to prevent them from suffering that damage.

The bezel from the G757 (Octopussy) is delicate.
It looks like plastic, because it is 8-) . And the plastic is soft, so if you wear it only for one hour, you'll have marks in the bezel.

Similar story with the blackened parts of the bracelet. These are simply black paint and the clasp is totally painted black - which rubs off easily when the watch is worn for a short time.

A question to all you watch nuts out there ,im in a quandary regarding a watch purchase 8-)
apart from my beloved Rolex (pepsi) GMT ,I also have a TAG HUER Monaco cw16012 (I think) ive had it for 4 years now ,and probably worn it for about 40 hours in total . It lives in my safe ,and never sees the light of day .Its obviously in pristine condition .I don't like wearing it as it isn't waterproof (I had this Steve MQUEEN thing at the time) :D
Now my dilemma is , should I trade it in ? our local dealer ,has a very nice selection of Omega planet Oceans with both straps rubber and steel. They also have a 2907 PO with the 007 logo on the minute hand .Now as I don't have many friends left (alive ) :#
you lot are my trusted advisors ,I just need a push on what to do ??
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

As you haven't worn them in 4 years - what are you waiting for?
If you can swap it against something that you like - do it!

When you wake up tomorrow. After having a coffee, take the Tag in and leave with the omega! That's an opportunity not to miss. You won't regret it! The Tag is an iconic watch. However by far the planet oceans and omega in general are arguably the better watch.
  • UNCLE27UNCLE27 EnglandPosts: 1,144MI6 Agent
I agree. If you're not wearing the TAG, trade it in. The Planet Ocean is a great watch!

Rubber strap or steel ,or the 2907 with steel strap its a tough choice :s

  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,619MI6 Agent
Usually the watch with the steel straps are the best deal and adding rubber/ NATO turns out cheaper than getting a steel bracelet afterwards

The answer is simple. If you're going to wear the Omega, trade in the Tag. If the Omega is going to replace your Tag in the safe, let someone else have it. If you decide to get the Omega, put it in your will. I'll pm you my details. :))

What Higgins said. Defo better value going stainless and then putting rubber on.

I cant remember the exact cost but when I looked into getting a stainless strap for my PO I am sure it was priced at nearly £400. The guy in the shop told me I should have bought the other way around as the rubber one was about £150 (this was some years ago).

I've had a little itch. Down there.
Turns out it was an 80s Retro Itch that needed to be scratched!
Now, the Worlds supply of used Seiko G757 Sports 100 models seems to have dried up
(Higgins - I'm looking at you! :v ) and anyway, even if I found a decent one, it'd be more than I'm willing to spend on scratching an itch!

    But... I have found this...

    image.jpg

    image.jpg

This, Gentlemen is the Casio AE-1200WHD-1AVEF!! Nicknamed on certain watch forums as the Casio Royale, due no doubt, to its vague resemblance to a certain Bond watch and because it's much easier to say!
At a frugal £25, I hope it will solve my 80s Retro Itch issue and is a bargain!

I have a similar model, UNCLE27, the Casio AE1200WHB-1BV (Black resin w/ fabric strap). $7 off eBay. Fun little watch.

Errr, correct me if I'm wrong...

But it looks like there is a zero numeral where the bezel lume marker should be. Seconds hand round lume marker looks different from the general release watch too. And if I am reading the press release right that watch is the screen accurate one and not the previously released SM300 ??

    :o

    PS. Awful looking suit 8-)
