I haven't seen anyone pair theirs with a GF/TB style strap, so here's what mine looks like (on a NATO, not a regimental).

-{ congrats on a lovely watch, I tried mine on the connery coloured nato, then the black and gray then put it back on the bracelet, I used some rubbing compound to give the centre links a brushed effect. I've got a planet ocean on the connery strap now. I'm sure you'll have many years of enjoyment with your watch.

Thanks! I've done the same - brushed the polished center links with a 30 micron polishing paper. Looks more like the SPECTRE version now, and I think a bit more tasteful. There's enough shine on the watch with the ceramic bezel and polished lugs.

The Omega OEM NATO is very nice - the polyamide material feels like a seat belt and is pretty resistant to abrasions. Definitely a clear step above the GF/TB strap I'm sporting in the pic. Whether it's worth ~$175 is another debate. :s I did give the polished buckle & keepers the same brushed treatment, though...

P.S. Would love to see your Planet Ocean on the connery strap!

I completely agree, there IS plenty of shine already, I much prefer it now, I will get a picture of the planet ocean up, I got the zulu diver connery strap which is similar in feel to the Omega nato just much much thinner, the oem strap is quality but worth the money? ( £150 over here) I'm not sure, personally I think it's £50 too expensive.

I recently opened a thread warning that Omega was increasing prices on all spare parts at the beginning of May.
Prices went up 30 to 150%.
A pity you didn't take the opportunity to buy an original Omega nato. They last much longer than other thinner nato bands...and they are SA! I bought mine for the equivalent of GBP 95.

My black and grey nato is omega, I bought it last year, £149, is what I paid then. You are right they are superior quality, it's the connery colour I have by zuludiver.

I never paid attention to Omega's latest offerings but read this over at a UK watch forum so take with a pinch of salt (it came from a guy who I have bought / sold off who seemed ok)

Anyhow he posted this which is related I guess to Skyfall era Planet Oceans
The current 42mm orange PO has been discontinued, so only stock remaining in stores is available until it runs out... plenty available I'd guess so nothing to rush out for. Next will be the rest of the 42mm models. They're being replaced with 39mm and 43.5mm models respectively as we've seen at Basel this year. These will start filtering through in July 2016.

If true it really does show Omega does not hang about and are pumping out crazy amount of models which I personally dislike to be honest

Unless the watch is very special, changing up watch models decreases their value, correct? From checking eBay sales it looks like my 15-year-old Speedmaster could sell for the price I paid for it, which means it has gone down in value because of inflation. Rolex really knows what they're doing by only making small changes to their models.

The cost thing is one thing but I just find the whole thing a bit tacky and devalues the brand - there is no real identity with the models since they drastically change the look / design too often.

E.g. I dont think the PO has a chance to become iconic like the old Seamaster as its morphing constantly every other year.

As for modern Speedmasters - how many models nowadays?? Must be tons

    I see.

I think there were 4 analogue Speedmasters when I got mine (I never paid any attention to the digital models), and now there are countless others. My model was discontinued fairly recently, I believe.

Agree. I have the original PO and love it and i think rhat changing pretty much just the bezel for the QOS version was and ok move but now there seems to be loads of versions with all sorts going on. I do wish they would keep the change more subtle. They seem to go mad on all models these days.

Robert Downey Jr. Shows Off His Epic Watch Collection | GQ

I thought this was rather amusing, with Mr Iron Man clearly messing about with his watches. Warning may offend Breitling fans :)

A few fakes in there?? (movie props maybe?)

Thanks for the link. Very funny. Of course it sent me down the rabbit hole of watch forum threads and articles about this video: the probably fake Speedy and the mysterious Breitling.

Funny that RDJ didn't call the green Rolex a Hulk. Don't you have that one?
