c) Because Omega said I could not do it! (and I did wait for the latest version this year thinking they would release a new (black) Ti
Funny reason (C) is why I wanted to do it too
Best,
Stefan
To be fair the local AD was just following company policy. When I took it in the were really impressed and said how great it was. But of course they knew if they said no I would go elsewhere. I reckon if you could find a friendly Omega AD you might be able to get the parts making the switch much cheaper and easier than the way I did it - but needs must

My name is Bond, Basildon Bond - I have letters after my name!
So I'm currently saving for my first Omega, probably going to go second hand from truefacet.com, but my wrist has been naked for far to long and would like to get something to hold me over. Any thoughts on these "homage" watches? I find them amusing, but a decent substitute. Maybe perfect for one of Mantis's frugal Bond posts

You can also buy a watch with 0% finance. I remember how frustrating is to have a naked wrist for a watch aficionado, however settling with anything less than the watch you really like/want just adds to the frustration. At least that was my case.
When it comes to finance there are always two camps those who would and those who would not.
I am in the former as I have bought several watches on credit card then done balance transfer to another card giving me x months on 0%. It perfectly fine so long as you pay the monthly WITHOUT FAIL! (And in full before reaching full term on your x months)
After all this was how I completed my recent project to bridge the gap between buying the Ti making the switch and selling the Steel. All I am adding is the difference but seriously I did not have a spare 8k kicking around few do. For me it was a calculated means to an end and so long as I make the monthly payments for as long as I need the credit before paying it off, i.e while bridging the gap it's fine. Also I am building my credit score making it easier to get future credit should I ever need it.
Just my take but appreciate not everyone feels the same and I don't advocate it just offer as an option. Of course if you cannot trust yourself simple don't do it!
Cheers :007)
P.S and I learnt this from someone who bough high end watches for decades and told me his secret so just sharing.

I'm like you; I'm saving up and getting an Omega when I turn 50 (2019) and this watch has actually held up very well since I got it about 8 months ago. I wear it to work every day and it still looks almost brand new. It really holds up well and looks quite a bit like the Omega in Casino Royale.

Just a general question . There are a couple of LEs which don't seem to figure here or at least not for a few years. Does anyone have the 50th anniversary and if so how is it rated.
Also I've seen that a black bezel and dial seamaster 300 was released at same time as Q of S despite not being related to the fact film . It looks good and a change from the blue. Does anyone have one?
I was in our interstate office a couple of days ago to introduce a new partner to some consultant s etc. A couple of meetings fell through and whilst walking came across an Omega boutique( I don't have one in my city which is the capital nor my state).
I went in just to look turns out the manager a mad Bond fan. A great opportunity to try on other Omegas ( to my surprise I like the AT). I now know how to get my watch serviced.
I like the look of the ceramics.
Turns out David, the manager, had seen Daniel Craig at the New York Times evening.
A really pleasant way to spend 45 min made the trip worthwhile.

Generally, there's not been much here about any of the LEs with the exception of SPECTRE. There appears to be far my interest in the models used (or apparently used) on screen.

Or check out sea gull watches who do an aqua terra lookalike and a familiar looking divers watch or two
I'd never finance a watch if I hadn't the cash available.

Agreed. I will buy with credit, but ONLY if I can pay it off within the week. Otherwise it can get out of control and who wants that?
Best,
Stefan
But buying a car cash? Worth a discussion, however ideal it would be.
A half decent substitute and one that will not break the bank is the Pulsar PX3067 Solar.

Finally he agrees with us although we'll probably need a blow torch to remove them...Just Do It!

I didn't know that you had the Oakley Carbon fiber flask already, that's great, too!
Now when are you getting yourself an Urwerk watch?
