Spy Who Loved Me & QOS?

So after watching Spy Who Loved me again yesterday I realized a couple scene parallels. I felt like there was more than these two for some reason, but the two big ones are these.
Obviously there is Bond holding the guy from the rooftop with his tie. The scene was basically the same in QOS as well
And then there was Bond and the girl walking through the desert in formal wear too!

Do we know if Marc Forster was a big fan of Spy Who Loved Me? Or did he just lack inspiration? Haha

I agree about the rooftop scene but the desert one, I feel is simply that Bond
has been to so many countries etc over the years, many simillar scenes are
    going to pop up. :))
I don't remember the director giving " Spy" a name check in any interviews
but I could be wrong. :D from past experience I frequently am. :))

I am positive that DC once claimed his two fave Bond films was

From Russia With Love & The Spy Who Loved Me.

Not sure how much influence he has over the writing etc but it seems like he does have a fair bit of input. However as mentioned above, after 23 films etc we will certainly get repeated scenarios!!!

Good point As he did have a hand in the writting of QOS script due
to the writers strike, I think many of us of a certain age all love TSWLM. :007)

Bond also asks the attendant at the airport to say he went to Kairo.

As an homage to DAF he should have asked to go to " Ca-Ca-Cairo " :))

Both those scenes stood out to me as references to TSWLM

I've never heard of DC siting TSWLM as his 2nd favorite Bond film? I figured he was a staunch early-Connery supporter.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

Well he would have delved deeply into its treasures while he was there :D

Daniel Craig (I assume that's DC)'s first Bond film was Live and Let Die. He said so in the Skyfall interview on Graham Norton.
