Skyfall Ties Order

This is going to be a long shot, but I felt it was worth a try!

Many of you are probably aware of the recent order of Skyfall ties which had a very limited run. I unfortunately did not make the final cut, and, needless to say, am quite disappointed on missing out.

I was wondering if any of the people who managed to get multiple ties would be willing to part with one (like I said, this is a bit of a long shot)? I would be happy to pay a bit of a premium (but nothing too ridiculous!).

Also, if anyone has any possible leads or contacts at TF that might be able to get another order going, please let me know as I would be more than happy to try and organize one.

The reason it was so limited is material. There isn't any more available to make any ties, so future runs are just not possible.

Hey guys,

I'm very sorry that most people weren't able to get a tie. Also, none of the people who made the cut are getting multiples - 1 each only.

I asked TF for 24 ties, but they told me that there wasn't enough material for that many. I'll keep you guys posted if I can get more.

Your best bet will prob be to look out for the same pattern and a colour close to the SA versions. I have seen a few.

The recent project should have been announced after the number of ties was finally confirmed by Tom Ford as many people now disappointed.

Maybe somewhere down the line somebody will sell theirs however I imagine these ties will be BIG collectors items and im certain will go for a premium.

The QoS ones go for a premium and these were available in shops and online in fair number of quantities etc. The Skyfall ones were never in shops and only a tiny amount of material leftover from Skyfall production so I would expect to pay big bucks.

Of course there is alway Magnoli if on a budget and not worried about material quality etc.

Wow, so they can only make 3 each of the London and London #2 tie and only 4 of the PTS tie? Limited material indeed!

Hopefully they run across another stash of material. The London tie is exactly what I've been looking for to match my suits and shirts for years with no luck. Looks like there are replica alternatives to the other two but nothing even close to the London tie. Sigh...

Ryan bought my Skyfall tri tie a couple of weeks back from me.... He was going to ensure Indy had access to it to close up the material difference

So hopefully, like what happened with the Istanbul tie, we will see a much truer copy soon

I thought you all might be interested.

I e-mailed indy regarding the update on the tri-colour tie. I got the following reply.

The newest version is already available. The tweak was so subtle that photographs don't really pick up on it, hence the lack of update on the site. But, in person, the coloring and size of the pattern is now more accurate to the original.

I'd love to get one that was more accurate, and having bought ties from Indy before, I know his quality is very good, so I hope he can update the photos on his site soon... as, IMO, they don't currently look too close to this:

I think this one will be difficult to replicate, it really does change colour at diff angles and at some angles the squares can look the same, this is down to the material.

Also his first attempt is way way off so it needs more then a subtle tweak, he needs to start from scratch.

The pic of DC wearing it above is an indication of the tie at a certain angle with the light. It does not always look like this and the greener / blue squares appear like that only at specific angles hence to make a complete tie looking like that will be cool but not a true representation of the tie as it can look generally all blue and darker (as seen in the film)

Sorry for the ramble, it prob does not make much sense however this tie is really really strange to look at - very hard to duplicate I think and very deceiving to me when I have it in my hands!!

Indy may need to get hold of this one to take a better look

As I've missed out on the TF originals , which ties would you order from Indy that you consider being the closest to the film Skyfall originals.
I value your expect opinion and this is my only chance to get some ties at least. Cheers

Is the width of Indy's ties screen-accurate? I'm not interested in going through width alterations on ties.

Agreed. Also, the size of the pattern seemed far too small as well. I'd love to have this tie more than any other from SF, and would even consider a replica. But without seeing pics of the new Magnoli version I just could believe that it looks accurate based on a "subtle tweak".

When I received the tie, I was surprised. It's actually not bad and a really nice colour. Up close it doesn't look like the TF one, but from a distance it has a similar electric blue colour and texture. So I'm quite happy especially for the price.

Cheers for that. I'm curious to see how the tie looks from different angles.

The new version is a huge improvement on the old one. However, I would like to see your pics as the colours still look off. My understanding is that the Tom Ford tie has checks of black, medium grey, and blue. This one appears to be medium grey, light grey, and blue. However, I know that the angle of a pic can throw the colours off.

Here are the pics of the new Vesper (CR train) and Skyfall v2 (SF tri-weave) ties from Magnoli. Bit of a mixed bag really. I really like the Vesper but disappointed by the new Skyfall. I guess I was really hoping for something close to the original as I like the tri-weave so much.

Anyway I took pics from different angles with and without flash.

You can see both Skyfall ties come off more as a grey, rather than having the pop of the blue against the black and grey checks. To be honest the £8 tiesplanet tie has a better blue colour in it.

HI, simply never wore it as the tab collar shirts I bought at TF are too tight on the collar to take the wider knot... Also buying a moncler and needed some funds !!!
