Recently I watched the Goldfinger DVD and noticed that both Goldfinger and Bond travelled with their cars from the United Kingdom to Switzerland by British United Air Ferries, which got me thinking about creating what I would call a ‘Fantasy Prop’ of Bond’s flight ticket.
My first step was to check the original book which states that both Bond and Goldfinger flew from Lydd Ferryfield Airport by Bristol 170 Superfreighter, although not stated in the book this service was run by Silver City Airways.
Silver City Airways was merged with Channel Air Bridge on January 1st 1963 to form British United Air Ferries.
Rather than using Lydd Ferryfield Airport the filmmakers used Southend Municipal Airport and on this occasion the plane was a British United Air Ferries ATL 98 Carvair.
After some searching around I managed to obtain an original British United Air Ferries flight ticket, I also ascertained that the Bond/Goldfinger Golf Match was filmed in May of 1963 and using these as a reference have created my own version of what might have been Bond’s flight ticket.

I've seen one of these up front now and my god is it detailed or what?
I'm not usually one to go for the paper stuff too much but if anyone wanted a standard to aspire to, this would be it.
Superbly laid out, made and detailed, it's a fantastic effort.
Nice one, and keep it up Rob!!
