    That's AVTAK.

    So it is :-)

    I'd like to re-cast my vote for Casino Royale having the worst PTS.

    Long gone are the days of sending Bond sailing off a cliff or being pushed out of an aeroplane. For CR they simply had Bond sitting in a chair quietly discussing 007 status with another man who is seated behind a desk. *yawn*

    The "free-running" chase would have been a better choice.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

    So many have aspects that let them down:

    * TMWTGG with its silly blinking Al Capone. Why the hell wouldn't you redo that?
    * DAF - Say it with me.... "CA! CA! CAIRO!"
    * MR - It's fine, until that silly shot of the Jaws silhouette spinning into the opening credits (plus the falling clown). Not sure what they tried to accomplish there.
    * FYEO - Only a minor gripe, but why does Blofeld have the silliest voice ever? "MEEEESTER BAAAAAAAAUND!" He doesn't sound like any of the other Blofelds.
    * AVTAK - Oh, I'm sure you can guess which aspect of this I hate.

    Incidentally, NSNA's first scene (up to Bond getting stabbed) works brilliantly as a PTS, shame it wasn't used that way in the real film. (The 'EON-ized' fan edit uses it like this, and also removes the music over the song - quite effective!)

    +1, about the fan edit of NSNA, it's very good. -{

    I thought the PTS of CR was a brilliant way to show Bond "making his bones" as a Double-0 and a solid introduction of Craig as Bond.

    Also as a reboot they had to show / explain how Bond got his " 00" status.
    I loved the " Film Noir " feel to the pts of CR. -{

    Yes, funny you brought that up

    Goldeneye for me. He is leaping around to kerplunky music,then exits Soviet troops on a motorbike. Dodging machine gun fire he and motorbike are chasing after plane. The background inserts look really cheap and nasty here. He goes over the cliff on motorbike with plane.

    His body is so streamlined he goes after the plane and enters it.

    GE.

    First, base jump from dam, totally gratuituous. Apparently he gets into a headquarter/warehouse of some sort which is located below the dam, right? then how come he escapes with a motorbike jumping from a mountain top? totally surrealist sense of space.

    Second. Worst Bond introduction ever in a movie (or any character in any movie now that I think about it). Hanging upside down over a toilet, above a guy doing his thing and reading. And he says "I forgot to knock". That was not the lush world of James Bond I was used to.
    Third. Bond chasing after the plane, actually flying like Superman.First time that a Bond stunt went beyond the highly improbable, to become outright impossible.

    However, it sets the tone for what the Brosnan years were: a total over the top absurdity. All of this, IMO, of course.

    TB is another instance of overkill. It sums up that era of Bond so perfectly: you start with a fantastic bit of Bond using his wits and deduction skills (“You shouldn’t have opened that car door by yourself”) and a terrific fistfight, but then it goes over the top with the jetpack. I find that Bond films are always at their worst when they can’t leave well enough alone.

    Another similar offender would be Moonraker (although that particular title sequence gives Thunderball's a run for its money); the freefall itself is spectacular & would have made for one of the best PTS of all time... but then they shoehorn Jaws into the action and it all goes belly-up from there.

    Although I see your point, it doesn't spoil the PTS for me. Probably my favourite ever.

    As a big fan of Goldeneye, I sadly have to agree the PTS has some serious issues. Perhaps enough to rank TND as the better film.

    Diamonds Are Forever. Connery acts like the worst thing Blofeld did to Bond was eat a slice of pizza out of his fridge.

    Do you have a link? It's one of my biggest mysteries of Bond, the plausibility of the stunt, and I don't believe any of the docs discuss it. I've tried looking up on google but haven't found anything concrete

    While the LALD one is unconvincing, the rest of the film isn't a masterpiece. Same with DAF, at least it matches the atmosphere of the film.

    So...the worst PTS is definitely FYEO. The whole thing involves flying a helicopter remotely with an annoying cackle
