    Well my username is Silhouette Man and the phrase "the man who was only a silhouette" is used by the Master Ian Fleming in Moonraker (1955) my favourite Bond novel and that passage is my favourite from the books. The great Kingsley Amis also picked up on this line and named a chapter after it in his excellent study The James Bond Dossier (1965). I also quote it in my signature here on AJB as for me it references the literary Bond in a subtle and clever way. -{

    My avatar, rather imaginatively, is of a man silhouetted and holding a pile of books/articles as I am so often doing in the real world. :) -{

    By the by, I am known as Dragonpol in the "other place", MI6 Community, as he is the villain of John Gardner's Never Send Flowers (1993) and it remains one of my favourites of the continuation novels.

    P.S. Admittedly it's not a very good silhouette man avatar but it was the only one I could get to fit! :s

    "AdamOmega" has been my default internet username on various websites, which is kind of a play on "Alpha Omega" (Adam is my first name IRL). "Omega" can also be read as a reference to the Omega wristwatch, worn by Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig in their respective Bond movies, and a watch I'd like to own one day! :007)

    I know it wasn't me you gave that offer to, but it would be mighty nice of you if you could downsize this image for me. It's picture of Gunnar Sønsteby, the WWII hero I honour in my username.
