Of the evens or odds, which is your favourite?

chrisisallchrisisall Western Mass, USAPosts: 9,062MI6 Agent
Which group do you prefer, evens
(FRWL, TB, OHMSS, LALD, TSWLM, FYEO, AVTAK, LTK, TND, DAD, & QOS)
or odds?
(DN, GF, YOLT, DAF, TMWTGG, MR, OP, TLD, GE, TWINE, CR, & SF)

I would have to choose odds myself.*

    I'd go with Evens. :))

What do you mean by evens and odds? I thought you meant the year of release, example 1962 would be EVEN.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

Wow, that is really hard actually. Odds have both my favorites and least favorites. Evens have a lot of the middle ranked ones for me. Evens are probably more consistent, but so hard for me to leave off CR AND Skyfall.

Even numbered releases (DN being 1, FRWL being 2 & so on). If you go by year you have a BUNCH in the odds, and few in the evens.

This is very difficult because the movies I like the most are so scattered between the two, but if I MUST choose I'll go with the odds mainly because they include GF, YOLT, TLD and CR.

Of the EVEN numbered films the only ones I totally love are TSWLM, AVTAK and TND.

Whereas the ODDS is loaded with favorites….pretty much all of them except Skyfall and DAF.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

A lot of fun with the evens, particularly in LALD and DAD

But in terms of overall quality of films, I'd go with the odds.

This division of EVENS and ODDS bares a striking resemblance to the Ultimate Edition DVD box sets:

Volume 1: ODDS The Man with the Golden Gun / Goldfinger / The World Is Not Enough / Diamonds Are Forever / The Living Daylights

Volume 2: EVENS A View to a Kill / Thunderball / Die Another Day / The Spy Who Loved Me / Licence to Kill

Volume 3: EVENS (almost!) GoldenEye / Live and Let Die / For Your Eyes Only / From Russia With Love / On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Volume 4: ODDS (almost!) Dr. No / You Only Live Twice / Moonraker / Octopussy / Tomorrow Never Dies

If TND and GE were switched in Vol 3 and Vol 4 it would follow the EVEN/ODD pattern completely.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

Wow, this is actually quite difficult.

There are four films in the "evens" list that are in my personal top 10 (or 5 out of the top 11 - For Your Eyes Only is simply a brilliant film that just misses out in my top 10), including my number 1 and 2 favourites From Russia With Love and On Her Majesty's Secret Service respectively. But it also has two of my least favourites - The Spy Who Loved Me and Die Another Day.

In the "odds", six of my top 10 are in that list, but so is my second least favourite film, Moonraker.

If I must pick, I'd choose the "evens", even though there are more of my top 10 in the "odd" numbered section. The fact that the "even" numbered films has my number 1 and 2 favourite films just gets that over the line.

This isn't like Star Trek where all the even numbered films are better than the odd numbered ones ;)

Star Trek: The Motion Picture was rubbish. I'll grant that 3 was pretty good, but 2, 4, 6 and 8 are better :p
