    It's A Wonderful Life, of course--although it's actually not a Christmas film per se. . .

It's not a film, really, but a comic scetch running less than 11 minutes. It's called Der 90. Geburtstag oder Dinner for One and was made in Germany in 1973. The actors are English. In many countries the programe has gained cult status as a New Years eve tradition, but in Norway it has always been on the air on the 23d of December. We celebrate Christmas on the 24th, so the 23d is called 'Little Christmas'. The program is unlike most NOT really ment to be watched (!). The channel NRK felt people needed time to decorate the Christmas tree, so they send this comic scetch to fill the "open" slot. The result is of cource that Der 90. Geburtstag oder Dinner for One is by far the most popular program on the 23d :)

    Here it is:

In fact it's so popular 68.3% of Norwegians feels it's amust to see it (again)
Here is a version made by the most radical left-wing squaters in the country, currently living in painter Edward Munch's old house. They are actually very good:

    A Christmas Story
    National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

For short films I've always loved Mickeys Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Boris Karloff version)

The BFT should do a showing of international faves, such as the ones Number24 and Bondtoys mention, plus some US (to us) obscurities.

Wonder if the next bond film will be winter themed? Nearest we get with Craig is Dragon Tattoo.

Die Hard, closely followed by Lethal Weapon. OHMSS is pretty good too.

My top Christmas films, in no particular order:

    How the Grinch Stole Christmas
    Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
    Jingle All the Way
    Joyeux Noël

My favourite "so-called Christmas" films, again INPO:

    Die Hard 2
    Trading Places
    Invasion U.S.A.
    Batman Returns
