Hi guys,

Well it's the season to be jolly (sigh) so with that in mind Pete and I have decided its time to raise some interest, light the fires and give summat back to the forum, ie you guys.

I went to see Pete today to catch up and decide what we can use as the prizes. We've both chucked some stuff in the pot and this is what we've come up with;

The competition is fairly simple, all you need to do is answer the following phrase and accompany it with a suitable photo.

"I'm AJB's biggest Bond fan because...."

So for example you might say ".. I own an Aston Martin" and post a pic of yourself gurning away while sat on the bonnet of said motor.

You can enter as many times as you like, but you must post a pic each time, tis a photo comp after all.

They'll be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes with a booby prize for good measure.

7 judges (who aren't allowed to enter the comp) will decide on the winners, the decisions will be final.

The prizes are;

1st place gets to choose EITHER


'Licence to Thrill' hardback book that shows many behind the scenes pics from DN in '62 up to GE in '95. This is a RARE book, and very hard to track down. Only downside is it's in German, unless of course you're German.

Or



'Dressed to Kill' hardback book that details the immaculate tailoring of the Bonds with loads of decent photos showing costumes and outfits of many different characters.

Also included for first prize is a replica Skyfall clapperboard (yes the clap has returned!)


2nd place gets whichever book is left over, plus a pair of Severnaya access cards from GE (no not the Chuck Farrel ID card in the background!)


3rd place wins a DB5 tea towel from the 'Designing 007' exhibition at the Barbican, London


Also chucked in for 3rd place, a set of film poster postcards
(yes I know the pic is upside down, it's just that photobastard wouldn't let me change it or upload a replacement.

Finally for the prizes, for the outstanding entry that for whatever reason gets a giggle or is so **** it's good, a booby prize of two extremely natty 007 ties are up for grabs!


In addition to all that, we've just given the green light to the AJB member's lapel pin. The first 30 entries to this competition will receive a lapel pin. We have no pictures of it yet as it's literally being made as I type this, so to give an idea, here's the artwork for it.



The comp is open now until 12:00 (high noon) on New Year's Day.

Judging will then take place, winners announced and then prizes sent out.

That's why I always come back from the States in stealth mode, especially if FE have been busy or my US EBay purchases have been mounting up. She does quite like the full set of three size original bulldogs though (I keep showing her the prices on EBay and telling her what a bargain I got.......if only she knew)

I think this is the second GG that was ever brought to the island, after the original GG of course.
