It's quote remarkable how as a boy Christmas involved a connery bond or an early Moore bond, ( which was duly videod and rewstched countless times throughout the year) and now it's a DC bond! When this started for me bond was like 40 odd years older than me! Now he's only 6 years older than, soon I'll be older than Bond
) Yes, as a kid Bond looked like my Dad's age. Now he's basically my age ! ......... I'm really gonna hate the

I love traffic cops they are just such humorous chaps, I had a lovely chat with one last week who pursued me to tell me all about " over rapid acceleration " ( in an Alan partridge/ boycie style voice. He was terrific fun.
Yes, he also used the phrase premature acceleration! I nearly slapped him )
He was sat outside a service station on a busy duel carriageway, I came out of it and accelerated up to speed along the very short slip road, it obviously offended him as he gave chase and pulled me over in a dangerous place to kick my tyres, talk down to me " is this your car Sir? " ....
" erm no officer I've just stolen it "
And generally talk utter garbage about the dangers of accelerating too quickly in such ( dry) conditions! 8-)
I remember Rory Bremner on Top Gear, who said he was stopped for speeding. Telling the officer he was sorry but
He was rushing home to watch Pride and Prejudice. To which he got the reply
" Far be it from me to keep you from the classics " )

So CR last night and Skyfall tonight...is UK TV just giving up on QOS or am I missing it in the schedule??
No it’s not on, I think they see it as the B*stard child no one wants to wants to watch.
Shame really as I (and many others) really like it. Not as strong as others granted but still an entertain8ng watch.
Cheers :007)

Interesting, I see Quantum on TV as much as if not more then Casino Royale. It's probably easier to fit into a channel's schedule since its much shorter then Craig's other Bond films.

It just stands out when they broadcast 3 out of 4 films over Christmas and New Year and miss out QOS that’s all.

I too enjoyed Moonraker, but do feel they did miss a few things. They didn't describe Drax, which I
would have loved. In my view of Sir Hugo, I've always imagined an actor like Brian Blessed.
A larger than life character, with a big voice, Booming across a Gentleman's club.
Also, the character of Q has appeared in a few of the radio plays. Now I was always
under the impression that Q was an "EON" invention, and owned by them. Hence why
J Gardner couldn't use Q in his novels and had to invent another character. Would anyone
know how or why Q can appear in these stories ?

I couldn't agree more, TP. Samuel West is a good actor, and presumably played the part as Martin Jarvis directed him to, but should have been, I suppose, "bigger" a la Brian Blessed.
As to the Q question, I genuinely don't know what's going on here. These excellent Radio 4 productions are explicitly with IFP's blessing, and they don't own the rights to Q. They do own Major Boothroyd, as used by Gardner and later Benson under their umbrella, but to call him Q they would need Eon's permission and Eon have been a little sticky with regard to the Radio 4 productions (which is why they unfortunately can't be bought as CDs).
Edit: I tried to find out more about this, but have only (so far) found that Eon apparently have casting approval. That's clearly because Eon never ever, no sir, inappropriately cast anyone but might also explain the fact that various people who have been in the Bond films also turn up in the Radio 4 series (Toby Stephens, Joanna Lumley, Tim Pigott-Smith, Rosamund Pike).

Mother in law just asked where is David Niven? I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry but could not help crying with laughter )

(Christmas tradition to watch Elf on Eve with my son - as you can see he is 18 now with size 9 feet and 6ft tall!)
Now converting him to Bond and starting a manly tradition

Your age?? Are you watching cr or Dr no
Bond actors
I'm sure they employ 13 year olds as coppers these days! I'm just waiting for the chance to use the " you still have spots " line to one

Really enjoyed this performance. Spent the day listening to some of the other adaptations, which are available on YouTube.

In 15min chunks. As a book at bedtime.
