I think a Bremont is a brilliant idea,I have recently been eyeballing a number of their watches. I tried a few on at the weekend, and I have a huge desire to stick one on a NATO like my Rolex...
Let’s, for argument’s sake, say that EON decides to go back to Rolex for Bond 24. And let’s, again for argument’s sake, say that Rolex is not going to pay for the privilege to be in the movie. So EON is absolutely free to choose whichever Rolex watch they want. Which one should they choose? Should they go for a Submariner and if so, should they go for the new one or an older version, with or without date etc. Or maybe one of those fancy green ones ). Or would you rather prefer they use a ‘dressier’ watch like a datejust.

The modern day version of the Submariner (no date) would be my choice!
Sadly though do EON really care whats on Bonds wrist? I honestly think not as long as they get paid a shed load which of course Omega do and Rolex wont.
Our only hope is DC demanding he wears one (he is a huge Rolex fan) however I imagine Omega contribute a mighty amount of cash to the overall film budget hence I doubt his view would count
I absolutely love my Seiko dive watches but I don't think we will ever see them in a Bond movie again. It would make the life of collectors a lot easier/cheaper )
Agreed! The SKX007 is an iconic watch with a very distinct style. I used to wear mine on a 20 mm 'Bond' NATO strap. However I switched back to the Z22 rubber strap.
I'm curious to know just how much Omega pays to put their clocks on Bond's wrist ... somehow I doubt it's in the "millions" of dollars.
Really?? I think it most def is judging by Omegas marketing and the amounts of Seamasters and POs they sell along with the limited (or not so ltd) editions they sell.
In fact I would prob say since Goldeneye Bond has had a hell of a influence on Omegas revival
Well, Heineken paid $ 45.000.000 to be shown two small scenes in Skyfall. I can't imagine what the four and a half minute wristshot in the PTS of Skyfall must have cost Omega. I do think that in Omega's case the connection with Bond is worth every penny. They only have to sell 9000 POs to make back the 45 million Heineken invested....
) I'd never thought about it before but I guess Directors
have to workout where to fit " contracted " product shots.
As well as trying to make the best film they can.

Unveiled today by Omega. what do you think of this for Bond's new watch in Bond 24? I'm not sure yet, something seems to be missing with this watch.
The polished centre links really let it down, other than that it has a very 60's vintage feel, it is almost identical to their 1957 Seamaster 300 model, if Only Rolex had the same drive to make some old 6538 / 5513 / 5512 type models instead of some of their newer gaudy models. The newer Rolex GMT is also let down by the polished centre links. I just can't understand who steps in a ruins a good idea like that ?
I would personally like to see a stainless steel diver return. I certainly don't buy into the, frankly tedious, argument that JB should wear a Rolex. He will have been wearing an Omega for 20 years soon enough. I am fortunate enough to own an Omega PO and a Rolex Sub 114060 so as a watch fan I'm just looking forward to whatever is selected, I just hope they don't change the watch models again 8-)
I personally don't like something pretending to be something it is not, but in this case I think Omega have done a better job than Tuder did with their Black Bay Red.

They didn't.
It was widely reported like that but the $45 million figure was the total paid for all product placement deals in Skyfall. That includes Heineken, Omega and everyone else.

Bond: "Timex!"
The first one is, however, only £1.99
Can't wait to buy the CWC RN Divers Watch edition, will be the best £3.99 I ever spend )

Some spend their money for porn
And some spend their money for watches
And some spend it for both
My favorite quote: Most of my money, I have spent on booze and hookers - the rest - I wasted
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Or go completely the other way with an RW Smith ?
Even too expensive for Bondtots - and far too sophisticated
That was me!
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
You think ? )
He was born in the same town as me with the same surname...that may have something to do with it
Bond’s Beretta
The Handguns of Ian Fleming's James Bond
