For me, all the links start to open ... then roll-over to a trailer for some movie. Tried it two browsers just to be sure (in FireFox, computer actually froze trying to open).
Took a bit of time but Loaded for Me,OK. -{

Well I did go on Saturday, and I was very pleased I did! IN the grand scheme of things it is a small exhibition, but I think that is in its favour. I took my time looking at all the vehicles, production art and everything else on display. I was in two minds about the audio unit, but Ben Collins enthusiasm comes across in his description of the vehicles and how they were used, even if the info itself is stuff we all know backwards. - I didn;t want to risk missing anything.
The vehicles all were fascinating, from the pristine four wheel history of AU1 and CUB1, through the action sequence wrecked Aston DBS's of CR-06 and QoS. - I finally "get it" now in seeing the artisty of that created battle damage up close. - Continuity must have been a nightmare on the PTS for QoS!.
Amongst the cars there are the aircraft and motor boats. (I finally got an answer to a question that had been bugging me about the Q Boat for a long time, and I was grinning like a loon at seeing it!) Plus Little Nellie is surprising bigger than I expected up close.
If you had been to Beaulieu previously it would seem small scale, and you do need to plan other things to do for the day. (See The National Gallery thread). - I was there for an hour and a half but I was taking my time. Nevertheless, I loved every minute of it, and would recommend it in a shot for anyone considering it.
Chris, Thanks once more for flagging this up. For me, a birthday well spent I think! -{
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?
On the back of a few comments and having missed BIM 1..... Went yest as in and around London area looking at Astons (missing the DBS too much to not have one in my life) and glad I did....
Heres a few pics....
Didn't find my Aston (but she is out there !!!)
If you're in London, pop along, 2 mins from CG tube station....
For us Northern AJB'ers its a treat as we don't get much up here apart from greyhound / pigeon racing etc ;-)
Very late in the day on this one as I missed it a Beaulieu and don't get much spare time, but treated myself to a trip to the London Film Museum to see BIM.
Not really big enough to call itself a museum, it's more a large basement, but a well presented exhibition all the same. I was more interested in the info they gave you about the number of cars trashed, or the ammount of money paid to hire a Sunbeam for Dr No, or when they used models, or the number of times Bond's fantasy vehicles became everyday reality (minus gadgets). I had fun on the Scalectrix. The gift shop was a bit poor.
I was there for about 90 minutes and really took my time. It was quite busy, I thought.
Generally a good selection. I was rather taken by how small the cars are by today's standards - you forget they're always sports cars - even the recent models look as if a decent people carrier would crush them. All the seats in all the special machines (e.g. the Q Boat, the Acroset, etc) were tiny and the controls as good as non-existence. I laughed at the Wet Bike's three buttons: Start, Choke, Stop. Brilliant!
While I love the DB5 and the DBS it was the sleek Mercury Cougar from OHMSS that really caught my eye. A lovely interior and a pine dash, very low slung, great colour - no dull silver / grey this was VIOLENT RED - a great sporty number.
Little Nellie had huge rotor blades. She's a very iconic machine. Despite the Aston Martins on show, I probably got more of a twinge of excitement seeing her.
Not bad for £15.00.
You can't stay long so I had a pint and then went to the Late Turner exhibition at the Tate. That was pretty good too, some great early 'impressionist' work from one of England's finest artists.
To mark the first anniversary of Bond in Motion at the London Film Museum, the museum will be hosting a weekend of Bond-themed celebration on the 21st and 22nd March 2015. Distinguished Bond film crew and contributors will be holding talks, tours and open Q&A sessions in the museum. Speakers will include stunt supervisor and action director Vic Armstrong, and production designer Peter Lamont. The official Aston Martin owners club will be descending on the Covent Garden Piazza outside the exhibition for the weekend with over 30 vehicles from the past to the present.
BTW, as of mid last week, the exhibit is now on indefinitely.
Attendance remains high and my hope is this could mean modest expansion, etc.; for example, changes have been made to both the DAF Mustang and YOLT Nellie components, possibly more smaller props will be added. Certainly vehicles from SPECTRE will eventually be included.
Had a nice time looking at some lovely motors down in Covent Garden yesterday :007) The OH picked out the CR & QOS as her favourites (even over the DB5!) -{

was that Mr Broccolis own car then ( never thought about it before) 8-)
Pressure driving it, with Cubby sitting beside the director.
Yes mate, that and an old London taxi 1EON I didn't drive either but have been driven in them.

Having been to Chantilly, I've got to think that story is just ... a story; the gate Mcnee talked about is easily twice as wide as the Rolls.
