Based on the build quality of the Harrington (minus the obvious zipper issue), I went ahead and purchased this one. Daniel makes an excellent product, and although I was never really crazy about the look of this one in the film, I'm sure I'll change my mind once I receive this. Thanks for the great work Daniel, looking forward to your next project. Personally, I'd love to see a remake of the Armani jacket Craig wore in Miami Airport in Casino Royale.
I ordered my jacket and got a confirmation and a tracking number. When i enter the tracking number in the Australia Post website, I am told it is not a valid tracking number. Please advise.

Hi Chris,
My apologies, I just looked into it and forgot to put the letters AU after your number, your number is LK904528***AU. Just add the AU to it and thats it. Sorry about that.
Received my Haiti jacket today. Very well done. I actually like it more than the Harrington, which is a surprise. Thanks Dan.
Chris
Great news Chris, I'm really pleased you love it. It's an interesting jacket, I think the main reason I like it so much is it's very flattering to wear without being restrictive due to the Elastane in the cotton twill. And too be honest I've been wearing mine more than I've been wearing the harrington lately, which is saying something because I really love that harrington
Just to update everyone, there is 1 Large and 2 Small Haiti jackets left and thats almost certainly the only production run of them.
Thank you to everyone for your kind comments and praise, I am extremely pleased with the feedback thats been coming through on here and in email for these jackets. I'm delighted to have been able to offer them and be a part of the Bond collecting legacy, the Shanghai peacoat is next.
I am still in the very early throws of the Shanghai peacoat, but I thought it was time to share a couple of pics of my initial sample with you all. This coat pictured I believe is a very accurate representation of the Shanghai Peacoat, it was redesigned by me and constructed locally. This is only an intial sample and not the sample from my manufacturer, but my manufacturer should have received the coat by now and will be in the process of producing his own sample for my approval. I'm sure you all understand there is a lot of back and forth with these things by now, so I can't promise anything in terms of delivery time on this one yet, but I'm hoping by January. Like the harrington, this one will probably require fabric to be batch dyed and that usually means waiting time. This initial sample as pictured is in a charcoal grey, which is of course not screen accurate. The production coat will be a similar Dark Navy too the harrington, with black leather accents. This sample is in line with the original, but I have requested my manufacturer include a silky rayon lining with 2 internal breast pockets in the same style as my previous jackets for a more luxurious finish than the unlined bound seams of the original coat.
I'm only guessing on pricing at this early stage, but will do my very best to offer it for under $200usd
Daniel, I love the Haiti jacket. Wore it out last weekend. Looked and felt great. Please do a reissue of the Harrington. I'd like to get another, this time in a large.
Looking forward to the final design with the interior pockets and lining. Will the handwarmer pockets be larger than the original for those of us with larger hands?
I can't really tell about the fabric. It looks a bit limp in the pictures. Still, I think it looks better than the Luxire version shown on Styleforum. Any idea what the final fabric might be?
Looks good -{ And no matter the price, it is still going to be cheaper than the $700 + $300 in Danish duties/taxes I would have to pay for the original )

Dan, if you get anyone after a M (which you are now sold out of) I have one up for sale, unworn as I kept it until my Large arrived.
And just echo above, wore my large out over the weekend, more casual than the Harrington and absolutely superb...
Got to wear my Harrington today. Liking it a lot. Zipper's a bugger, though! What's the consensus? Is there a fix?
The zipper is difficult. Not helped by it being a double zipper with the pull on the wrong side for Americans. Do the purchasers in Europe have this issue? The Haiti zipper is much easier to fasten and unfasten.
Yes, for some reason the zips on the harrington can be a little sticky. I've found that it's just getting it to go that extra click before it will zip, which I think is a double zipper thing... at the time I spoke to my manufacturer and he went out of his way to find a silky smooth zipper for the Haiti jacket, he's a great guy like that always going the extra mile. Thanks again for your feedback on these things, that's what helps me improve.
ONE SMALL HAITI JACKET LEFT!!!!
I'd like to hear some more feedback on the peacoat if anyone would like to chime in... My manufacturer has begun work on the production sample, which will include a silky rayon lining. The hand warmer pockets will be of a sufficient size.
I received my size Large Haiti jacket this week. I also have the Quantum jacket in Large too. The bit seems slightly more roomy in the Haiti, but I may be wrong. Th material is excellent as a light summer jacket and I'm a huge fan of the collar. For the price it's unbeatable. The only thing I'd change is that it feels slightly too long, I'd take an inch off. Thankfully the elastic pulls it in for me. I also don't know what the stitch mark is on the shoulders - is that on the original Y3 - I cant see the purpose of it ? (see last photo)
I'd be interested in seeing how the medium fits, but I know with this I'll be able to layer and I think the Medium will be too tight in the shoulders and chest. The zip is much better on this than the Quantum.

Looking good, mate. All of the major details are there as far as I can tell. Really need to see some fit pictures to give a good impression. I'm definitely in for one when you get the production going.

Any chance on doing a non-silky lining for the body, but silky in the sleeves? May be a strange request but I think it will keep the coat from sliding around too much on the shoulders.

I don't find the lining on Dan's other jackets to be slippery. And I've tried on peacoats with rayon lining and they didn't slip.
God, been looking now and then for a replica since the movie came out and tonight I took a run on the internet again, only to find out that size Small is out of stock and that only time will tell if another bunch will be made.
I certainly hope so.
Please email me directly at royalefilmwear@gmail.com, so I can start a new email list for those interested. Inform me in the email what size you would like and once we have something close to the numbers, I'll set about producing a new batch.
All the best,
Dan.
Email sent RE (hopefully!) a re-run of QoS Harrington ;%
Just to address a couple of things, the wool used will likely be a wool blend, the initial sample shown is extremely warm so in terms of practicality there will be no probems there. I actually wore the initial sample coat out hot air ballooning in the middle of winter. The temp was around -1 degrees Celcius that morning and I was glad to be wearing it In terms of the leather colour, the dilemma is as follows. I believe the official stance from BR is that it's black, but I agree that I thought it was an extremely dark chocolate brown... so whats the problem? Well my concern would be ending up with a lighter brown leather instead of the very very dark brown we would want... so basically I'm leaning in the direction of the offical BR reissue offering. But I am open to discussion, so lets hear it!!!
I think it would be a mistake to have it in black leather accents...I would go dark or chocolate brown...the wool should be a midnight blue which is nearly black....please don't listen to BR re-issue. I have a pick of three coats laying onb each other with three different color wools from allegedly the same batch...they have had quality and consistency issues, but we do know which coat BOND wore...I would stick to that.
Comments
