Are those measurements accurate? It seems that the jacket in XS should be able to fit someone who wears size medium comfortably!

The XS measurements listed are pretty close to the Banana Republic Harrington I have in S (except the sleeves on this XS are longer than the BR's small).

    Hi Stan,

    Thanks for your interest ;)

Might I ask what nationality you are?

Part of the reason I dislike quoting sizes is everyone has a different experience of what sizing is.

There is very little in the way of international sizing standards, which is why basing your purchasing decision on a pit-to-pit measurement and the other ACCURATE specs given by myself, which I have taken a great deal of time to consider as expressed just a few comments earlier in this thread.

My experience with western clothing sizes is that more often than not, I am a Medium and indeed sometimes a Small in t-shirts etc. This is simply an individual’s preference on how they like their clothes to fit, but the fact that I sometimes wear 'small' clothing implies that my 'ROYALE' sizing is not too large by some western standards. Of course, if you are communicating with me via the Orient... Eastern sizing is typically much smaller, so there are many variables in sizing, most of which I find entirely redundant. It is the jacket specifications that are all that matters.

For those of you who would like something to work from here are my specs if it helps.
    I am:
    5’10’ / 178
    183lbs / 83kg
41” chest (physical body chest measurement)
    33” waist
I am wearing a MEDIUM JACKET (Extremely accurate specifications)

Now, I pose a question, the MEDIUM sample jacket has 4” of room above my body chest measurement... does it look big on me?

I don’t think so, it feels like it fits great.

Those of you looking for a Hollywood fit should consider the shipping fees back to Australia and then to your home destination again. I say this because plenty of times I have advised what will fit nicely only to sell the smaller size and have it returned and exchanged at the buyers expense. The final specs I will give you are accurate. You can always have something tailored down a little if need be, but I doubt I will have any jackets left to exchange this time round after a couple of days on ebay.

My point is this. Let’s not get caught up with what’s on the label, all brands will vary somewhat. This is MY sizing, which I’m lead to believe is working for most people now (awesome) PLEASE! PLEASE!! PLEASE!!!... base your purchase on my accurate measurements given which I believe are in line with western sizing for the most part as I understand it.

Sorry to rant about this, but there’s only so many times I can repeat myself.

Thank you everyone for your emails... You have been added to the email notification list and will be contacted exclusively with updated sizing charts (if required) before the jackets actually hit ebay.

    Thanks again guys, gotta run!

The sample jacket I'm wearing is a medium. It was made very accurately to the measurements given, we did however increase the sleeve length by another 2cm for the final production specs. (66cm sleeves on the sample, which will be 68cm sleeves on the Medium production jacket) If there is any variance in the production jackets finished specs I will advise accordingly.

Also, just received an email which I will address for everyone now. The last run of jackets used a fairly lightweight cotton and this sample still was not as heavy in fabric as I would like (despite being heavier), so I had a very lengthy discussion with my manufacturer yesterday and he has agreed to use a cotton twill that is 50% heavier in g.s.m. (grams per square metre) than the sample. The outer shell will be 50% heavier than in these photos, which should make a nice Spring or Autumn addition to the wardrobe. This of course also means there will be much more retention of shape in important areas like the collar lol.

The production jacket will be stellar :)

Well gents, I'm away for a couple of days so if I don't respond until the weekend you know why.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Thank God thats been addressed, I was looking at the pic thinking that collar is going to droop in no time and look terrible.

Looking forward to them becoming available.

Yes the fabric will be 50% heavier, same cotton twill as the sample, just heavier... There have otherwise been a few subtle improvements with the pockets and collar mostly and of course increased sleeve length. Really looking foward to receiving them.

    Hi Stan,

    Thanks for your interest ;)

Might I ask what nationality you are?

    Hey Dan,

I'm an Asian living in Sydney Australia. I have a slim athletic build (79kg, 6'0), and I usually wear a size medium/40" chest, but need at least a 26" sleeves. Given my built I don't have much problems with finding a good fitting jacket for most labels. I do go down to a size small in T-shirts and shirts sometime if I'm after a more fitted look, but never in a jacket. For brands like Diesel and Belstaff I actually have to go up to a Large.

The size medium does look very good on you. I don't mean to question you sizing Dan, but just looking at the numbers your XS measurements is identical to most of my mediums. I appreciate your clarification on your fit and sizing, and I do feel a lot more confident about ordering the right size given how well the medium fit on you.

And yes, please keep me updated! :)

Thank you sir for your response ;)

I have had so much input from everyone on sizing, both on here and via email, which has been great overall, but frustrating at times though only because I know how much sizing does vary. I was actually doing some recon. on the Y3 (yeah I'm looking at it atm) and discovered that the sizing pit to pit is actually about a size larger than mine, which basically puts me in a Small Y3 with their standard sizing. The QoS harrington is a very interesting fitting jacket though. It is more fitted in the shoulders and has higher armholes (smaller) than most, also the pitch of the sleeves is steeper more like a suit which helps define the shoulders much better at the seam. With that in mind while the pit to pit on the medium offers me 4" of room above my 41" body chest measurement, it still looks and feels very fitted in the shoulders and upper arms, which I like but I couldn't imagine wearing a small and being comfortable. I am worried that some people are underestimating their sizing.

I hope my comments help some of you, I do have a lot of experience with the fit of this jacket, so any questions fire away.

Thanks for your response mate, I appreciate it.

I'm teasing no longer... I finished the redesign over the weekend and commissioned the sample jacket late yesterday. The ROYALE QoS Haiti Jacket is officially underway (Y3 replica). I would expect to have a sample in about 2 weeks or so.

Just an update on the Harrington... we've been waiting on the fabric, which will be batch dyed Dark Navy. At this point it's looking like late April before they'll be in. My manufacturer is aware that I am ready to produce other jackets and is also frustrated by the delay, but the bottom line is - we want the right fabric.

Sizing for the Haiti Jacket will be the same as the Harrington, as I'm now only dealing with the one manufacturer sizing will be consistent.

If you are already on my list, you will be notified when the Haiti jacket is available, if you're interested in my Y3 replica and aren't on my notification list you can shoot me a quick email and I'll let you know as soon as its available.

I'm really happy with the redesign... can't wait to see the sample jacket and post photos in a couple of weeks!!!

Email me at royalefilmwear@gmail.com if you're interested in my Y3 replica (QoS Haiti Jacket) and aren't already on my notification list.

    All the best gentlemen,

    Daniel.

We are at this point running a little behind schedule... so it could be the start of May. The Haiti jacket sample (Y3 replica) should be ready this week. Sorry for the delay on the Harrington, but its out of my hands at this stage. If I have your email you will be notified as soon as they are available.

    Hi Dan ,
Any ideas when the Harrington will be available ? I go away early june and don't want to miss my chance , as I wont pick up any emails.
    I'm on your email list.
If I go for the Y3 replica instead , whats the precise difference ?
    thanks

    Hi Guys,

Looking like the start of May for the Harrington... I've come to realise that whatever time is quoted for these things to basically double it, in fairness I have asked for a lot of small changes including YKK zippers, which I know he was also waiting on. Production of the Haiti jacket will start after the Harringtons are received. The precise difference? Well the price will be the same at $179USD for the QoS Haiti Jacket, the design differences are many if you know the jacket, but the fit will be the same as the harrington.

Thanks for your interest gents, if you're on my notification list I'll let you know whenever something new is being offered, which I'm sure most of you won't mind. At this point I might be offering something new every couple of months.

Thanks for posting these pics Kadd,

You are quite right, the collar sits very differently with the jacket unzipped, otherwise it's a pretty standard spread collar with the collar stand to give it it's shape. I am quite comfortable with my interpretation , but as always thanks Welshboy and others for your feedback.

Just off topic guys, my grandmother passed away yesterday, so if I don’t reply for a while my minds elsewhere atm. Please do email me your details and I will be checking here for feedback, but I may not be in a hurry to respond.
