Exciting news about the Harrington. It will help me deal with not being in a position to pony up 2000 Euros with the gentlemen trying to get Tom Ford to do a screen accurate run.
I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet, but have there been improvements made to the hardware since the initial Royale Harrington run?
I received my Solden jacket (medium) today and couldn't be more stoked with it. It fits perfectly and based on the photos of what I've seen of the first generation jackets (and from what Dan says), it is heavier and warmer. The fill looks to be substantially bulkier than the original too, which increases the jacket's already high level of screen-accuracy.
In terms of customer service, this is the second product I've purchased from Dan. My jacket took one day to arrive (given that I live in Australia too), but even more impressive was Dan's quick and thorough reply to my questions.
Overall, I totally recommend this product and advise you to get onto it quickly if you're hedging, as I think most have sold already. Can't wait to wear it out during the Aussie winter!
Great to get some initial feedback from the Aussies!! Thanks Ajai and Anthony... The quality of this production run is exceptional and I've gone the extra mile actually paying more for the last two production runs than what my manufacturer has been charging. I did that to drive home whats important to me and to you guys. Quality. So even though I've been at this a few years now, just this year we've matured a lot with what we're doing, everyones on the same page. I mention this in regards to the upcoming harrington as we have had the occasional sticky zipper. That should be sorted, I've been very clear.
The zippers on the last two jackets, the Altaussee and the Solden V1 & V2 have been excellent. We've made even more improvements to the harrington, just little things, some stitching detail here, proper piping around the pockets there. And we're making our own fabric this time as nothing I've seen from the available supply is suitable. The harrington will be a little heavier in weight this time, a bit more substantial, but it will retain its fine cotton twill weave. The colour is again a custom creation as I couldn't find a suitable sample. Because we are creating our own fabric, the harrington will be the best part of 3 months away. I hope it's a bit sooner than that, to have the peacoat back for Christmas, but with the extra layer of processes, thats what I expect.
Thanks again for the feedback gents, it is much appreciated.

Any close photos of the jacket would be nice to provide just to see the revised edition
Hi everybody, i recevied my solden jacket today and WOA !! Great quality , great Job !!! Thanks you Daniel ! I m looking forward to wear it this winter !!! i recommend this jacket !!!
Thank you Arno for posting pics.
I looks like the quality of the wool has improved a lot compared to the previous version.
Very nice!
Arno beat me to the punch with the photos - looking great, by the way, man! I don't own the first version, so I can't comment on wool quality (but it is very thick and warm), but the most noticeable change to me is the increased quilting material, which gives it a more SA look. Dan's really excelled with this one.
I received my Solden jacket 2.0 yesterday and it is terrific.
I bought the Solden 1.0 and had to sell it due to the sizing. I can say that Dan has improved the jacket in every respect.

The 2.0 has thicker more screen accurate quilting on the vest,[/*]

the blue color of the vest is a little darker as well,[/*]

the wool on the sleeves is thicker,[/*]

the back doesn't ride up,[/*]

and the finishing on the interior wool seams is cleaner.[/*]
Best of all, it fits! Dan has taken great care to make sure the that the dimensions is on the site is what you get. While my size large 1.0 was too small in almost all respects, the 2.0 size large is perfect. I also asked for and received longer sleeves. While it would have fit without getting longer arms the bit of extra length is appreciated.
Dear Msadd007 : i ordered size Large ! it fits me very well ! no loose but fitted (not too much) ! my measures are : 183cm / 82 kg / Athletic / Chest : 110cm / Waist : 85 cm
On the pictures i was wearing just a tee shirt under the jacket
Thank you for the clarification! I went with a large and our sizing sounds very similar. Appreciate the feedback and photos! Daniel has done an incredible job.
Just received mine and it's a brilliant jacket. I was a L in the Altaussee and an XL in the Solden fits perfectly. I personally would love it to be a touch longer but that's just my preference - it fits the way it should. Bring on more jackets, Dan, my credit card is ready!
I have version 1 and version 2 and this version 2 has a much more similar feel to the Tom Ford.
And this after one could already barely tell them apart judging from The Mantis' video!
Its in the grey wool that there is the main difference. Version 1 was thinner and more stretchy than the TF original. V2 has a much thicker "quality" feel. I am sure Mantis will agree.
Just to echo the above.. my 2nd run jacket arrived today.. HUGE improvement in terms of feel, weight, thickness compared to the 1st.. This is a serious home run jacket.. Quality is fantastic.. Cannot wait to get the revised Harrington and the Haiti jackets now !
I'd just like to say a very big thank you for the wonderful feedback. These were very well made and I'm absolutely delighted with the final result. There were a few small tweaks, but the main difference is a little more weight to it. Each version will have improvements... as it should. All reruns of the previous jackets are going through a redesign process which does take time, but I believe they'll be worth the wait.
Around 80% of the Soldens have found new homes, with 3 sizes now sold out. Again thank you all for the kind words and feedback. I've tried to bump the numbers up a little with production to cover interest and with that comes a considerable outlay upfront, so it's great to know we're getting it right. -{
I think I posted this in the Altaussee thread, but just to keep everyone in the loop... The jacket rerun schedule is as follows:
Next - QoS Harrington (Approximately October)
SKYFALL Peacoat (Approximately December)
QoS Haiti Jacket (Approximately February)
.... This line has intentionally been left blank )
I say approximately, because usually it's around 2 months for a production run, but in the case of the new Harrington we're making our own fabric, so that adds another layer of processes and I expect it to take a bit longer. Hopefully these will come along a little sooner, but this is the expectation.
Thanks again gents, really great to see your photos, do keep them coming!!!

Can we see some pics of the new version?
OUTSTANDING, it has weight to it, is flawless in execution & very comfortable.
And the back :

Arno- What size jacket did you order and if you don't mind, what are your general dimensions?
Thanks!

Looks great David, but didn't you mean to put this in the Spectre thread?
Regardless, looking good. That was the eay suit, wasn't it? Did it need additional tailoring?
That looks like it a great suite David.
And I cant wait to get mine SOLDEN jacket here in holland
And the rest of us quote it for posterity.
And this after one could already barely tell them apart judging from The Mantis' video!
