Why no Die Another Day game?

Does anyone else feel like there was a missed chance for a Die Another Day video game? I know the movie is not one of the better received in the series, but there was PLENTY of action that could have been turned into a pretty good game.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Nightfire, but I feel like they missed one here.

Were there plans too and they fell through in favor of Nightfire or what?

As far as I understand EA had planed on Nightfire being the game for 2002 from the start. Prior to this period, they had adapted both Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough as video games and neither one had made quite the splash sales wise that EA had hoped for so beginning with Agent Under Fire, EA used their own stories rather than those of the films.

A campaign based on Die Another Day was later included in 007 Legends, likely due the fact that EA had never made a video game based on it, and Activision felt it fit the direction of 007 Legends as an overall game.
