So? What do you think of this review? Do you find Dr No to be boring? Do you think this man was being unfair when he said that none of the book was captured on screen in Dr No? I mean the movie did have a limited budget back in 1962...

I know it's awful of me, but I can't watch these youtube videos of someone stumbling through a seemingly interminable discussion into a Webcam . . . if it's not one of those, I apologize, but I've tried to watch too many of these painful entries.

On the claims you note here, no, I don't find the film boring at all. In fact, I think it's exceptionally well crafted. And I thought it did a great job in evoking a lot of what the book discussed, though it obviously changed details, such as how Dr. No is dispatched in the novel, and toned down somewhat Fleming's infamous racism.

Same here. I'm not even willing to give it a chance.

He makes a couple of decent points about Honey Ryder and Dr No being underdone in the film compared to the book as far as character is concerned. I don't agree with his conclusions though, and I think that Dr. No is a strong film, certainly not boring. And he claims Dr No is the weakest of Connery's original run of 5 films, which I certainly disagree with.

The Youtube reviewer in the link, also commented on the radiation suits in the movie saying they were "silly" but I don't know what the guy wanted, I mean the radiation suits were probably of their time...Were Broccoli and Saltzman suppose to make a "cooler" batch of radiation suits for 1962 instead? Or something like that?

Terence Young knew how to make a Bond film.
