Other than OHMSS and OP is there a movie with MORE action than MR? That has to count for something!!!
OHMSS has probably the least action of any Bond film.
Tracy's father gives a long monolog, Bond falling in love montage, Bond slowly cracking open a safe, Bond going undercover at the clinic, etc… the first ski chase doesn't start until like 1.5 hours into the film, right?!
My current 10 favorite:
1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

The entire last 50 minutes of the film are one long action scene. Before that we have the fistfight on the beach, fistfight in the hotel room, and a half-dozen action sequences ON the mountain.Yes,there are some drawn out scenes but OHMSS is a longer film.Perhaps you should go re-screen it dude. ?:) ?:) ?:)

Oh yeah.I forgot about 007 beating the crap out of Draco's men at the warehouse too.
From the city hall fire onwards the action in AVTAK never stops
With Moores Stunt Double for most of those Scenes )
They're still action sequences though
I actually like AVTAK but the sequence with the horse auction at the chateau is very slow. Not saying I don't like it because I do but combine that with 007's interlude at Stacy's house(cooks dinner for her) and you just don't have the sustained action time of OHMSS,OP,or MR
Moonraker was probably more impressive in 1979 than Die Another Day was in 2002, but I'm judging them on a flat scale.
Die Another Day was obviously more absurd, but IMO it had a better cast, better action and *gulps* a better story.

I would argue MR has a better cast by virtue of Michael Lonsdale (Lois Chiles was bearable, everyone else was pretty shocking). Dench and Pike were the standouts in DAD but the very Hollywood script gave less room to show their talents (as was the case to possibly a lesser extend with Hale Berry and John Cleese).
You have a point about most of the action being superior in DAD, the sword fight was nice and energetic plus the Jag/Aston chase was well choreographed. I guess MR suffers because most of the action was played for laughs, the PTS is technically impressive but degenerates with Jaws, the Venice chase was jumpy, the lift scene had appalling back projection. I did like the fight in the glassworks though.
I prefer Moonraker for numerous reasons. Examples. The beautiful locations and sets combine to make it generally a feast for the eyes. The sets are amongst the best in the entire series. John Barry's epic score trumps all bar You Only Live Twice and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Hugo Drax is a terrific villain, I really enjoy his deadpan delivery, and he has some truly memorable dialogue. Great scenes such as the centrifuge, the pheasant shoot and Corinne Dufour's demise.
Moore Not Less 4371 posts (2002 - 2007) Moore Than (2012 - 2016)

I agree.
llets take this one to task.
Die Another Day was obviously more absurd,
Then of course there are the references to the previous 19 Bonds sprinkled throughout the film. Some are subtle like the ‘Birds of the West Indies’ but some jump you out of the film (Jinxs’ Ursula Andress entrance or the Thunderball jetpack). I think the producers went too far and gave the audience a headache. All it does is remind the audience of how much better those films were.
As I have said the film self-destructs with almost every scene so here are Broady’s top five DAD scenes of ****
1. The cgi iceberg
2. The Jinx/Bond sex scene. I have no wish to see Pierces’ cum face
3. The invisible car
4. Any scene involving Gustav Graves
5. The Madonna fencing scene
but IMO it had a better cast
inx regularly pops up on internet polls as the worst Bond girl of all time. By this time the “Bond equal” cliché was getting very tired. Wai Lin and Christmas Jones hadn’t quite worked but the way she was written with puerile comebacks and a character of pure cardboard. Berry seems awkward as well, she cant get her mouth around the dirty innuendo. Its not the actresses fault but rather the rewrites from the director who saw the film in terms of Bond clichés
better action
The Ice palace looks particularly plastic. The Bonds have always prided themselves on their production design and location work. Tamahoris love of cgi is skewered in one scene. Bond is in a dragster in Iceland and is speeding away from a laser beam from space (yes, I know). He reaches an ice cliff and the dragster dangles. The cgi of this ice cliff is awful, it looks terrible. The bluescreen work around Pierce is obvious. Worse is to come as the cliff crumbles and Bond surfs amongst the iceflows accompanied by the Bond theme. The bobbing icebergs look like they have been drawn by a six year old. It’s a scene which is painful. Cubby Broccoli would have actually gone out and found a location like this – the cgi realy fucks it up.
and *gulps* a better story.
The villain is very poor as well. Toby Stephens as Gustav Graves is rather embarrassing – a sneering David Cameron lookalike with the menace of snoopy. The subplot of the genetically modified DNA is worthy of a in-the-bin script and doesn’t work as well.
1. For Your Eyes Only 2. The Living Daylights 3 From Russia with Love 4. Casino Royale 5. OHMSS 6. Skyfall
Love is a beautiful thing, I praised the film makers for showing it. :x
I'm glad Jaws found someone and settled down. At least now after
A hard days killing, he won't be going home to an empty house. Even
Professional killers have feelings too !

I seriously don't think so unless I have seen an extremely cut version of some of these films ) ) AVTAK? LALD? You can't be serious.
I don't remember DAF having more Action then MR
Exactly. And the action sequences they did have were rather silly.

In fact, Moonraker is fast becoming my favourite RM film, but probably not for the right reasons
