Who's cooler, John Drake or James Bond?

I'd say Bond if 60's Connery or Dalton; other than that I think I'd be forced to choose Drake(/ Number 6).
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

"Unlike James Bond, he never carried a gun, rarely used far-fetched gadgets, never got the girl, and rarely killed anyone on screen."
Yup, sounds pretty cool….NOT. )

Undoubtedly John Drake's character also had an effect on how Bond was written and portrayed, as well as on the other tv and film spies who followed.
Though he didn't habitually carry a gun, he still used one, along with some incredible gadgets such as transmitter-dart firing umbrellas, two-way radios hidden in anything from books to typewriters, and false-bottomed suitcases containing a variety of gadgets, etc (so much for wikipedia!).
He was always surrounded by beautiful women but given that McGoohan, a staunch Catholic, had strict views on the subject- plus it was the most popular tv show at the time (McGoohan was Tv's highest paid actor) and on before the watershed- his (ahem) involvement with ladies was limited.
He was also unflappable, charming and urbane, and his fight scenes were always well staged and imaginative.
So I would argue that although Bond was the coolest at the cinema, John Drake ruled the small screen.
