It certainly worked if Aki's death nearly move you to tears (Tracy's assassination made me burst out crying, but I was very young at the time, and I find it slightly strange for people aged over the age of 9 to cry over fictional characters dying).

I've lost count of the amount of times I've got all misty eyed at characters who die
in movies. I still have to fight back the tears with Mighty Joe Young.

Only last night watching "Tears of the sun" as the soldiers fought ( Some Dying ) out
of a war torn african country to save some refugees, I was nearly in Tears again, and
I've already seen it loads of times. ) I guess I just a big softie.
Even at the start of the last Star Trek movie as Kirk's father stayed on board to give the
crew time to leave, I hade to fight back the tears, It was simply so Dammed heroic. )

She obviously had some excellent driving, seduction, and climbing abilities, but was she really proficient with firearms? Most spies are not really soldiers. Kissy seemed kind of clumsy with guns and looked a bit ridiculous conducting a infantry assault while wearing a bikini.

Aki was more the relatively passive observer/honey trap/courier/thief type of spy, not the commando/assassin type that Bond largely was.
