Licence to Drive

Got the inspiration to create this Dalton/Brosnan era Driving Licence from some Bond in Motion exhibit pictures.

Unfortunately I am of an age where I still have mine, so it was fairly easy to create within reason.

I hope to create in the future a 60's Connery version when I have the correct reference material.

Thanks for looking.

+1, it is really outstanding, can't wait to see the vintage Connery, was it some sort of book type licence ? I think my Mum might still have hers :o

I remember those book licences. I once took a lovely box of coloured pens and turned my Mum's into an absolute work of art. No page was left unadorned. Unfortunately, my parents weren't patrons of the arts and didn't appreciate my skills and creativity. Today I'd probably win the Turner Prize for it.

Awesome! Great work, looks totally authentic.

I still have mine too, as I'm also 'of an age' (50 later this year).

Is that your birthdate on the licence too, by any chance, AA? :)) :D

AA. you sure our driving licences weren't green and laid out differently in the "Dalton era", IIRC?
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
:)) I read somewhere that Henry Ford was disgusted at the thought of people
making love on the back seat of his model Ts. That he had the seat shortened
So it couldn't be done. :D Although it is amazing what you can do when you
put your mind to it, as my old Vauxhall Nova could tell. :))

    First we had a green one in the 70s and early 80s, then mid to late 80s we changed to the pink european, and in the late 90s the pink and green -{

Only passed me test in 1983. Had me green 'un for a while after that, methought.

When did them Europeans insist it was toast, the pinko bastards?

You mean you coloured it in with pink felt tip after you printed it off? :v

    Do sharpies come in pink?

Anyway I got mine today and once again rob knocks it out the park. Well done mate, it's a stunningly accurate piece if work.

Well.........finally finished the 1960's Connery style driving licence.

    CDL_1.jpg

This type of driving licence was produced blank by HMSO and then supplied to County Councils to put the driver information on the first page, that is why these driving licences had a gummed page inserted.

Your document replicas are absolutely fantastic! The only minor critique I would offer is to sign them yourself instead of using a font. Hand-writing fonts are one of my pet-peeves... ;)
