Orbital Space Laser Movies; DAF vs. DAD

Both OTT, both silly at times, both with a fairly lame villain characterization, both with a deadly space laser. DAF is naff. DAD is a DUD. Which wins? I love Pierce, but he is no Connery. Add to that John Barry & Ken Adam, and it's an easy choice for me. Diamonds Are Forever. You?
