I can vouch for how good 12 years a slave is. At one showing I helped a lady
Who got so emotional watching it she had to step out to the lobby. She had
Only moved over here a few years ago and her family was from a part of
Africa where many slaves had been taken from and it had got too "real "
Watching it for her. So by anyone's standards it's a very powerful film. -{

My wife and I saw it together at a movie theater, and the only sounds that could be heard were occasional sobs. It stuck a very emotional cord with us as well, and that film is one of the few that has stayed with us long after we viewed it.
More of personal opinion. I don't care for historical drama, documentary, old west, political, etc etc.
I understand now that those types of movies are not your cup of tea. I was just wondering if there was some reason that you "loathe" 12 Years A Slave in particular since "loathe" is such a strong word.
Yes, I was wrong. I 'loathe' it because people kept talk about it make me irk. Same go for Star Wars and Harry Potter, they're ok movie, but people make me loathe them.
I'm ok with this pick. Live and Let Die is one of my favorite Bond books. The movie isn't that bad either. The opening with him in Serenity is one of the best parts.
Well I can understand, I could never get into Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings. )
But I thought everybody loved a western ?
I could never get into LOTR either TP. Not at all into all that fantasy nonsense. Give me realistic and gritty Bond films any day (not MR or DAD obviously) )
I think they will go with an Asian villain, it would make more sense from a box office perspective. I have heard through the grapevine they are talking with a Canadian Actress
