We've all seen the reproduction boxes claiming to be the real mccoy Sears/Gilbert James Bond doll first featured in The Essential Bond by Dave Worrall and Lee Pfeiffer but could this be the genuine illusive Sears/Gilbert tuxedo boxed James Bond doll?
The box appears larger than the regular Gilbert figure utilising the believed to be known Sears artwork and the 007 font is different to that usually utilised by Gilbert as is the spacing of the letters/distance from the edge of the box but the fixed blade shoe looks correct as to being the Sears example which usually accompanies the doll in the plain brown Sears/Gilbert packaging. I've got to say though that the tux just oozes wrongness!...this is not part of The Modest Collection.

'JAMES BOND' and 'ACTION FIGURE' typefaces are different in both versions.
The text in the 3 circles of the linked picture are in black whereas the the text in the DW&LP book is red.
As for the tux ..... I think he borrowed that from Ken
