My only tiny contribution was the tax disc, was proud to have sat in this beauty a couple of weeks ago and believe me it's as good as it looks on film.

a bottle of Heineken. )
It's really fun to see both of those aspects front and center in Chris' video.
Also: the Goldfinger alley chase was a very fun, and very long night of filming.
My Herbie is first in the queue for filming another episode of the series, but at some point we'll have some fun with my 7 series and the same crew.

There are comments on here that, given the esteem with which I hold their authors, truly humbled me. Thx.
Secondly, I only agreed to do this to help Chris with his excellent Aficionauto site and to hopefully pay appropriate homage to my good friend Brian Uiga's extraordinary talents and incredible generosity.
Chris is an incredibly talented movie maker, as I hope this film shows. The photography is spectacular, and his style and editing poor forth with warmth and appreciation for the car, which is what his films are all about.
I for one am shocked and saddened at the amount of effort a man like this has to go to to get what always seems to me to be little reward. And at the constant risk of ridicule and bile from keyboard know all's and petty midgets, who have most likely never even thought of creating anything let alone actually spilling sweat to do so. But why bother, destruction and criticism are far cheaper outlets for the mind short of the currency of courage.
Chris is plain and simply a genius.
As to Brian, most of you know and appreciate his efforts. They range from silly dr who gadgets, to full blown restoration of star trek "bridges";
From graciously donating his own prized memorabilia (on here) to giving his time and his vehicles to charitable projects, the most inspiring of which seems to me to allow a blind child navigate him through the jungle that is Los Angeles on a silly egg hunt..
from offering budding prop builders free and unfettered advice, to building the actual gadgets for them, for minimal financial reward and often just the satisfaction of "getting it done"..
I only know three individuals of similar calibre, with most if not all of the credentials mentioned.
I'd never compare or judge, preferring instead to proudly call all four friend.
I can think of no better human beings to recommend one try to emulate.
Plain and simply, Brian is a genius.
As to the video, again it also was an attempt to fill the void that is "bond in America", to inspire anyone to enjoy their passion, and to consider not what it can do for you, but what you can do with it for others.
Ajb used to be the pinnacle of those sentiments.
It can be again.
Finally, Andy's tax disc is always the major talking point at shows - "what's this? Oh how quaint and English, you have to pay tax to drive your car too, I tgt that was just a californian thing" so thanks again Andy.
Plenty of people have worked on the car, including malaki, micheal, and nick. I owe you all a debt of gratitude.
But as to blame for making me do this, it's all down to Brian.
Cheers
And it was worth it!
IMO Chris managed to
1. Show the beauty of the DB6 itself
2. Displayed Paul's affection for the car and his collection
3. Draw the 007 connection
4. Capture the beautiful area of the Passadena mountains
all at once. Great job!
What I particularly enjoy is the fact that Paul owns the DB6 for ages.
I know that he could have easily shifted to a DB5 and taking it with him to the US shows the emotional bond that he has to the car.
The love to her is stronger than the 007 connection and that's what I really appreciate.
As for what has been said here:
I also fully agree! -{
BTW I wonder why Paul resisted to land a quip on the germans when the occasion was there
There is only one question open: Where is that hole?
{[] {[] {[]
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
The hole ? In his wallet of course
Great to see an insight into a passionate DB6 enthusiast and the end product is beautiful.
A great story, and a great legacy. -{
