John White Westbury chukka boots

Hi all! I've been looking for a cheaper alternative to the Church's Ryder III and came across John White's offering: The Westbury. It looks the good, great price, and it even comes with identical rubber soles. Just wondering if any members here have had experience with these, and can shed some light on their quality, comfort, and sizing. Thanks in advance!

I've had my Westbury's for around a year now, they are good quality for the price. I have a size 9 which I take in everything and they fit perfectly.

Yup, I agree. I've ordered my standard size. They are very comfortable, good quality and durable. I've had mine for a couple of years. Great boots!!
They have a more Tetbury styled toe than the more rounded Ryder boots but you won't be disappointed. Go for it!

Agree with all comments so far

They are first class, I have worn mine for over 4 years, and worn them a lot...

Very comfortable, well made and durable uppers and sole

    Good shape / profile

    Definitely worth twice the money

WOW thanks for all the feedback guys! Based on the overwhelmingly positive comments I am left with no excuse not to buy them. I'm glad I come across them as it is surprisingly difficult to find a nice pair of dark chocolate suede chukka boots here in Australia. Well one that is classic and dressy anyway.

    Cheers guys!

Guys - I wear 9.5 in tennis shoes and size 9 in dress shoes. In terms of sizing, should I get a size 9 or 9.5? THANKS.

I have the Westbury and have worn them a lot for 3 years - very comfy, normal sizing I would say and definitely worth the money

Do they have Goodyear welted soles? The description on the John White website is vague and the only other description I can find says the 'heel is repairable'......I prefer a shoe that can have the soles and heel replaced.

    Any experience?

They're not as hard wearing as C&J or Loakes. But you can have them re-heeled and new soles. They do last for years though. Not bad quality at all for the price. Loakes are the next step up.

Wonder if a Cheaney Jackie 3 is a good option also? More expensive of course :)
