I don't know if this is inapropriate talk here in SABS, but I've just come in from the Garden picking my "dessert". Red and black currants, raspberries, cherries, plums. The problem is actually bothering to pick it all. Vanilla cream sauce makes the medisine go down
After my evening meal, and walking the dog. I
Returned home and while feeding the dog, I was
Entertained by watching a nearby Kestrel, hovering
and hunting in the field behind my home.
It's great to occasionally stop and watch nature.

We occasionally have this huge heron in our garden ,it's like a terradactyle in flight , but apart from him we have flocks of bright green para quets (noisy burgers)
I see herons a lot, we do live near a lot of water and rivers, so we get the geese flying in formation a lot and there are loads of those, the authority in York wanted a cull on the geese but we're stopped in their tracks by a campaign led by non other than Dame Judy Dench. My favourite birds to see are the barn owls I see on my way to work, the buzzards that live just over the field near the river at the back of our house and the pair of red kites that turned up this year.
That's good news about the red kites ,I think they are on the endangered list
They were. But up here they are as common as blackbirds in some areas. Harewood house started a breeding programme years ago and there are loads there. Infact if you go for a picnic there you are at risk of them stealing your lunch, they seem to have spread out with quite a few pairs over in the Pocklington area in the Yorkshire wolds too. They are a great sight to see.
Today is World close friend day. So as we're all friends

I'll be seeing double if I drink any more of these!
Will be trying some posh gins while we're away, and also Dubonnet. I'm an ardent republican (in the British sense of the word) but am curious to try the Queen and Queen Mother's favourite drink, Dubonnet and gin.

Sir James: Many do, mine friend. Many do...

My usual mix is three to one vodka to vermouth, made slightly dirty and with a single olive.
