I treated myself today to series 3 of the original The Man From UNCLE -{
I do love these camp 60s spy shows. Just noticed in Episode 3, you can see
part of the lighting rig in the studio behind the set.
I've only been able to get Season 1 on Region 2 DVD - have you got a DVD player which covers Region 1? I'd love to get seasons 2-4. The five-movie box set released in 2003 is also great, but I'll never know why they didn't release all eight films, like the US box set.
Re season 3: it was highly influenced by the success of Batman show, and tipped over too far into camp - a real shame as seasons 1 and 2 had just the right amount of tongue-in-cheek humour without becoming absurd. I've never seen season four though, as I don't think it's been shown here since the original airing (though I might be wrong).
Yes, I have the 5 film boxset and have read
That season three went a bit too camp, but
I love the show.
I got it off amazon prime, they have all
Four seasons which I shall buy as I watch.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I don’t have a DVD player, I buy from Google Play and stream movies and TV series. I bought The Man From UNCLE complete series quite some time ago during one of their sales, I am nearing the end of Season 2 now, I find that it’s best to drift in and out rather than binge watch.
I also pay for Amazon, Netflix, Disney+ and BritBox so I have a wide range of things to watch. I have AppleTV free for 12 months but will not pay a subscription unless the choice expands greatly by December.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
) Similar to myself, Amazon, Netflix, Disney+ and BritBox, so for me I've plenty
of Dr Who etc. Sadly for the likes of the Avengers and Man from Uncle I have to buy them.
I'll continue to pick up UNCLE series by series, perhaps in no particular order as well as
some more Avengers on Amazon prime.

Since I don't have any streaming at home I wonder: If they release NTTD on some streaming service befroe or in stead of a cinema release, will they release the movie on DVD/Blueray at the same time?
Only my guess, But I think if they wait until November for a cinema release. Then it
will be the standard 3 months or so after for the dvd/blueray release. If they do an
early streaming, as many are doing, Honestly..... Who knows.
I wonder if anyone has an information on how well these early streaming releases are
doing, the latest being the new Star Wars film. Are they making close to what a cinema
release would ?

One of the big problems with releasing a potential blockbuster by streaming (as well as DVD/BluRay etc) is that once it's out there, the pirating is insane. This happens with theatrical releases as well, but not to the same degree. I don't think it's possible to make anywhere near as much money from streaming/DVD/BluRay/4K as a theatrical release if you're a blockbuster.
I can see that being the case, Smaller films to make some money will stream as it possibly won't
hurt their box office too much, I accept it will be smaller. The big Blockbusters I agree will hold back
for a cinema release.

I haven't seen it, but I do know that it did abysmally at the box office, something like $2m in opening weekend (against a reported budget of $50m). It had largely disappeared from all cinemas a few days later so I'm not surprised that it's now streaming. I'll definitely still watch it, however.

When was it released TDE? Completely passed me by.
I just checked IMDB because I know it was a while ago but couldn't remember when. It opened in the US, Canada and the UK on January 31. I'm thinking that may be that was such an inauspicious opening that they just didn't bother anywhere else after that, especially with Corona on the horizon.
Anyone heard about the film Cuck .... ( 2019) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8195518/
I've watched a couple of review videos on it, as its claim to fame is that it
made $0.00 on release

Yes, I think the character is a loner who becomes a cuck after his failed marriage .
It seems to be a bit of an art house film. I don't know much about it other than
it made nothing.

Coke Zero. please -{
Last night my father and I placed three fishing nets in the oscean (I'm pretty sure that's not the correct expression. What is?) next to the boathouse, hoping to catch a few dinners. This morning we dragged the nets out of the sea(Again, expression?) and we got …..one pollock, one small flatfish and one "hå". Hå is a very small type of shark and has a rubbery skin. Only the pollock is considered edible.
I felt, but maybe didn't look like this:
Have you experienced something mildly interesting lately?
Yes, that misspelling is embarrasing ….
Is there anyone out there who knows the correct phrases for lowering fishing nets in the …. ocean and later pulling it out again?
A friend of mine just texted and said he has taken up kiting after the Corona rules about social distancing started. I wonder - isn't there a risk he'll bump into other people while kiting in the park? ?:)
I invite everyone to celebbrate the 75th anniversary of VE day. Let's raise a glass to freedom and the the sacrifises that were made so we can enjoy democracy and peace -{
Looks like you're back to being landlord of this place again, TB2.
If you're not too busy, maybe you could screen a Bond movie here on Monday evening? Possibly LALD? (See above)
Ah No 24! I need your help....
I am renaming some of the ships in my Star Trek Ships collection.
I am changing the name of my Norway class battleship to USS Bilskirnir.
However one thing I am not sure of... how is the name correctly pronounced?
Oh and casting nets when fishing, and drawing in the nets when done.
Thanks for the help. I really has "net Worth" (yes, I'm very funny )
The word Bilskrinir is in Old Norse, but since we (as far as I know) don't have any Icelanders or professors in Old Norse here in AJB I'll do do my best. I think Bilskirnir is pronounced fairly straight forward, but the letters L and R are pronounced differently from how most English-speakers would say them. Here are two short videos on how to pronoounce them:

Much appreciated!
I did some research, as I first heard the name as 'Beliskiner' in Stagegate SG1, but was wary.
Sometimes in SG1 and Atlantis names and places are used at face value, Abydos, Ra, Atlantis,
but sometimes they 'tweak' it. That's how I found Thor's hall is actually Bilskinir. So I thought
lets get the name right, the NCC number can hint directly at SG1 as a series.
Right, back to work. Before I start on the supply order who wants a glass, tankard or mug of something?
(Holly starts making polite, but insistant mewing noises... Freddy gives out a growling high pitched shriek.)
I meant besides You two! I'll.fill your bowls in a minute.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

LALD? The Moore the merrier!
One thing, if I seem on edge, its because the Voodoo stuff scared Me as a kid, and Jane Seymour (as she looks in the film) looked a lot like my Mum at the time. It brings back sharp memories, because my Mum was the one to reassure Me voodoo is only applicable if you are the subject at hand.
How is a 7.30pm GMT start?

I was reading about that today. What an amazing story and thankfully no one was hurt. )
