    Winter did a surprise return yesterday and a friend used her robot lawnmover to clear her garden of snow :))

    Don’t brag! As a Scot, I find it extremely demoralising we have had no snow this past winter. (Shakes head, out of sorts.)

    This winter had very little snow in Norway too, or at least on the south-west coast. The shape of things to come ….. :#

    Snow here in greater NYC this past Saturday. Latest snowfall on record. Even better, Central Park (middle of Manhattan) has now had as much snowfall this May as it did this February. Interesting times all around! :s

    A.R.S.E., prepare to activate overnight service mode Please....

    (The A.R.S.E makes several ticking and clicking noises. It’s Ceylon eye turns deep blue, and a large crescent moon appears on its display screen.)

    Good. Freddie, try to be good on guard duty! Come on Holly, time we headed home.

    Oh Barbel? Breakfast at the usual time? I got Cumberland’s in, Holly likes them too.

    Talking of The Silencer, the Matt Helm films are being shown again on Sky Movies Classic this week - though imo they're crap!

    I think they are on Sony Classic Movies - and thanks for the ‘heads up’…I’ve never seen them so I’ll record them -{

    I'm with Barbel. I've been watching them again, they're cheesy but good fun. Dino breezes his way through them with panache (and, no doubt, a booze-induced exuberance).

    I particularly enjoyed the second one, Murderers' Row, and the last entry (The Wrecking Crew), which will be familiar to anyone watching Tarantino's latest, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. One thing's for sure, Dino's leading ladies were all stunning - including the ill-fated Sharon Tate.

    There was a riot in a Norwegian prison today! I've always thought "prison Riot" sound s so exiting and exotic … something that happens in the wild west. Never thought one would happen here in my lifetime. The prisoners gave up before the police came and no-one was hurt, but it still counts!

    Thanks for the Coke Zero -{
    It's entirely possible there's something wrong with me. In fact there's plenty of evidence in this forum. But this isn't it. I think the last time I saw a prison riot was ….. I was going to say "LA Confidental", but that's not really a riot. A riot here is like a day without gun killings in the US or a week without paparazzi "news" in the UK. It's exotic. It would be bad if someone was hurt during the riot, but as it turned out it felt more like an episode of "Castle" (the show I'm watching right now)

    Have you seen any episodes of Castle (staring the always good Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic who was in QoS)?
  • Thunderbird 2Thunderbird 2 East of Cardiff, Wales.Posts: 2,817MI6 Agent
    Garbel? Ok....

    Talisker, Aberlour, Bells (ick) Jamesons, Dalwhinne, Jura, Mackellan or "Father Is Pissing?"
    The latter is a new Japanese one Pussy found online and got over excited about. (Shakes head)

    Not recently 24, but I have in the past?

    The series is old-fashioned with lots of banter, zingers and jokes while the crime is solved in a an episode and Castle moves from his family at home and the one in the police station. And information comes exactly when the plot and conversation needs it, often with the person with the needed info enters the room and delivers the news while commentig on a conversation he couldn't have heared. But castel has some good plots, doesn't take itself too seriously and has charm and heart. I think the two leads in Castle are really good, especialy Fillion. He should have been a movie star. The series could have been made in the 1980's, in fact it reminds memof "Moonlighting", and perhaps that's part of the reason I like it?

    Garbel? Ok....

    It's a joke aimed at Number24 and Higgins, but since neither of them have noticed I'll be changing it back soon.

    Guys, we have a guest this evening! Holly? Yes cat, let him know....

    (Holly bobs her head, then taps her tail firmly on the floor four times, before looking enquiringly at the Kitchen, as does TB2.....)

    R2D2 scoots out the kitchen door, scoots into the centre of the Mods area, pirouettes on he spot several times beeping and peeping Hellos.

    Ladies and Gentleman presenting R2D2! He is our special guest as he has kindly agreed to project AVTAK on the wall screen for us. Who wants a pre film drink?

    Welcome, R2D2. I have a good feeling about this!
    Large whisky, please. I'll be needing it once the jokes about Sir Roger's age start... :#

    Oh, and I'm going back to my normal username.
  • Thunderbird 2Thunderbird 2 East of Cardiff, Wales.Posts: 2,817MI6 Agent
    Much better

    (R2D2 whistles and toots as his projector interface activates the wall screen.
    Holly is sitting next to TB2 looking alert and interested. Freddy on the other hand, lying in his basket, bum pointed at the screen. Everyone settled with drinks looking forward to the film.

    Here we go folks! Take it away R2! (AVTAK appears on the screen....)

    I just heard a great story from my mother. Tomorrow on the 17th is our national day and we've got snow on the ground. "That's the first time since I moved South" commented my mother. I asked if she remembered 17th of Mays with snow. She did …
    When she grew up in the north of the country the kids were usually let off normal eductation a couple of days before the national day to shovel the road from the school to the church to clear it for the parade :))
