we all know that cultural musings are rare on AJB....
My mission to educate the clueless folk here about great watches continues and I wanted to show you this:
As an introduction, I must say that Patek Philippe almost never produces watches in Titanium.
This has been done in 2003:
Titanium case, titanium hands and titanium numerals on the dial
I don't want to imagine how much it'll cost to replace that crown when necessary
If the fact that the watch is incredibly simple and made out of Titanium is not enough, think again:
Rear side of the watch without caseback:
The owner decided to have a transparent caseback installed and here it is:
If you think that the opening is a bit small - think again!
The transparent part is a flawless D colour diamond weighting 9,44 ct!!!!
This watch is Lot 141 of the June 10th sale in New York City and it carries an estimate of $300,000-500,000.
