I'm giving the Z5 a miss, I've had all 3 of the Sony phones so far but Sony are so slow in getting any software updates pushed out. I'm sticking with the iPhone 6, someone will pull all the exclusive wallpaper and ringtones off of the Bond edition Z5 for us to use.
If you must have the Z5 to hold in your collection, buy a dummy phone...cheaper than chips and makes the appropriate eyeball candy in your collection...

My collection is all about using the same stuff as James if it's only possible... I'd never go for an iPhone for instance, the XPERIA T wasn't a bad phone in the end - after almost 3 years it's still going pretty well. Electronics play a huge part in my life so it's always about trying to make the phone look exactly like the one in the movie.

I get you. For the last two movies I went for the most approximate model I could find, not being able to get the exact ones for different reasons. So for Quantum I got the c905 instead of c902, and for SF the Xperia S instead of T. I was, sadly, heavily disappointed with the latter, so a year ago I switched to iPhone and plan to stick with it. But I do understand the wish of trying to get the exact model (well, I reckon most ajb members do...)

Bond will use the XPERIA Z5 (note: not premium) in the movie. Confirmed by Sony Mobile's official facebook, they say they know more about it but can't share anything until the movie premiere, besides the fact that Bond WILL be using the phone. It will be also widely available as the "made for Bond" edition, not only in Vodafone UK.
So if he is using the phone in SPECTRE what was all the fuss about him turning down millions in the Sony leaked emails (or was that to do with him personally endorsing it??)

Actually I am not sure if that story was ever true. I never saw the actual e-mail and it makes no sense really if you think about it - Sony may be paying the producers in order to promote their hardware troughtout the movie but paying an actor for holding it in hand on the screen makes no sense - it's not Craig's decision what Bond's next phone will be after all, is it? He might have suggested to go with Samsung, but since Sony actually owns the franchise (hence Bond movies were usally big SONY adverts) it's almost impossible that Bond will ever use a phone made by a diferent company, as long as Sony owns the rights to 007. I was actually happy for many years that Bond was using Sony Ericssons because they were pretty damn good cell phones, it's the recent years that started worrying me and I'm not sure if buying the XPERIA Z5 will be equal to buying a portable radiator 8-)
What's wrong exactly with their recent phones? I switched to Experia once they released a water resistant model, and would never again buy a phone that is not water/dust resistant. Waiting for a scratch/shatterproof screen now!

Yeah exactly my thoughts hence the confusion
I thought the those leaked emails suggested Dc didn't want much to do with the promotion of the product, and associated fees, and now we see Moneypenny leading the PR for the phones, which supports that notion - the store POS all seems to have moneypenny, where all previous phones have featured DC in the promo material

Now this makes somehow sense! -{ And I don't blame Craig, seriously... What's wrong with XPERIAs someone asked - they're incredibly expensive (Z5 Premium well over 1000$) and absolutely not worth that price - they're overheating almost constantly if you do a lot on them besides texting and making calls and what's worse - Sony is actually advising not to use them underwater anymore. 8-)
The limited edition XPERIA Z5 will be looking just like the regular black one. Nothing special, a special edition will be available probably in every country as Sony Mobile confirmed there will be one in Poland sold via Orange. However I would wait with buying one - the XPERIA T used by Bond in Skyfall was silver, not black like it was advertised (actually it was even a TX basing on the cuts on the back housing but that had to be a prototype since the TX was never unfortunately sold in silver) so there is a very big chance Bond's phone in the movie will be also in a different colour.
Just ordered mine via 02 refresh here in the UK, should be arriving before 10.30am saturday morning so will be sure to let you know my thoughts on it...
While I'm in the market for a new phone, I am thankfully unswayed by Bond product placement as far as cell phones go. For things like clothing...no comment.
I'm looking forward to the release of the Blackberry Priv, actually. Previous models of the Sony Xperia got some initial interest from me, but there was always something that prevented me from wanting one once they eventually made it to the US.
I ordered my Z5 Bond Edition From Vodafone UK by asking a friend which lives in the UK with an extra 20 Pounds for unlocking it, Can't wait for her to bring it to Iran in June, This waiting is gonna be painful!

if so does that mean maybe he does not use a mobile in the film (hence maybe Moneypenny does)
Hopefully because I will buy Bond's phone as always but the Z5 is a piece of junk I'm afraid.
The Paperback and advert says Made for Bond.
So i believe it's used by him.
He also Drinks belvedere and stephanie sigman is the testimonial.
But if that's true I have to spend 700$ on a piece of junk Or even 1000$ if it's the Z5 Premium he ends up using...

You don't have to do anything.

Looks like we getting a Bond special edition version of the Z5 here in the UK.
You already have a dummy? That was fast!
