My New PPK 7.65MM

Cheers All,
Finally made it to the gun shop today, following two days of illness, and a third ducking the wife, to pick up my new 7.65MM 1968 PPK.
All that's missing is the "Alligator" box....and a mission (or film set)
Cheers,
Tom

Fantastic purchase! Did you get a Brausch silencer with it too?
Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"

    ...Brausch silencer.....
Well, I have been in contact with a couple of our sage brethren about those.
However, as Scaramangasgoldengun points out, I'm an OHMSS man, and he never used a silencer in that film.
So, if one becomes available, or if I could make a repro of one, then that would be lovely.

Next project: *Bespoke Lazenby C Crown Trilby (Portugal scenes)
    * Possible Dr. No Lock Trilby (depending upon sales bonus)
    * Alligator PPK correct display box
    *5513 Rolex
...........and I wish that all of these would cost exactly what I told my wife they did!

    Thanks for the kind words,
    Tom

Big debate on this one. Boothroyd states that the Brausch silencer was standard issue. In the closeups of Connery, especially when he kills Prof Dent, it is a PP, not even a PPK, and someone has also said in another thread, that yet another gun was used.
So, I have no idea if the Brausch silencer ever was actually film seen.

Now, in FRWL, there was a silencer used on the AR-7, especially in the Call Me Bwana scene. Connery pulled that from his pocket, and not from the AR-7 stock, as moviegoers wanted to believe.

So, I leave it now to better experts. I am curious myself as to what actual silencer was used in Dr. No and FRWL?
    Cheers,
    Tom

A brausch was never used on screen. Most of the time they aren't real suppressors. Just machined tubes.

    The same bespoke dummy silencer was used by Grant, Bond & count Lippe in From Russia with Love and Thunderball. A different dummy silencer was used by Bond on a Browning FN 1910 to shoot Professor Dent in Dr.No -{

Yes, thanks. I see the Lazenby promo shots feature a different silencer, shorter and larger OD. Same one used in DAF promo shots w Connery outdoors. That one I have seen looking wobbly, may have been a press fit job.
Thanks all for your help- you guys DO know chapter and verse!

Don't know now if I should go the thru the trouble of making one, as I already have a lovely silencer for the Ar-7 in my Aston's glove box.
Guess I will wait till after the Lazenby Portugal Trilby gets made, or until I really strike it rich and go for a 5513 Rolex.

Have to lose a bit of weight before I order an Indy suit...
