Mosquitos and ticks...

Well, it finally got hot here in SwampEast, Missouri. I was working and hunting a little on some property in the delta and I was covered in ticks and mosquito bites...

Do ya'll have ticks and mosquitos in the UK? Do you need some? We have plenty, we'll share...

Skeeters don't like me. Of course, not many skeeters around here. Or at least not around me. I know they spray to keep the population down and encourage people not to leave standing water. Not many swamp around here in the SF Bay Area either.

fortunately ,its to cold here in Blighty to get the pests that our state side cousins get ,I havnt seen that many wasps lately
there seemed to be thousands around when we was kids ,I suppose the worst thing to get stung by in the UK would be a jelly fish ,but that is very rare,

It's just the right time of year for them at the moment. Bride of Barbel got bitten pretty bad by them at the weekend up at Crainlarich. Chiggers was not the word she used...

We get big gnats here, but then I live in the fens and it is quite swampy here, and the locals are webbed footed

Down stairs, stopping to brush my hair in the hall mirror. When I heard
A buzzing, took me a few seconds to figure out where it was coming
from, " My Jeans !" , I didn't care who was about , the jeans were dropped

I had a Bee hit me in the nose and almost take me off my motor bike back in the day never rode with the visor up after that )

When I was in high school, in the Dark Ages, a bee went up our instructors pants and stung him on the nads,,,he grabbed the door frame and said, "Boys, I'm gonna be sick...!" And he was.....poor man was sick for a week.

We call people that live in the Delta "mudpuppies", it's our word for salamanders. Of course we're "ridgerunners" up here on the plateau.

Right here where the Ozarks fall off into the Delta we have skeeters, ticks, and many other critters that bite and sting..one of the worst is horseflies...terrible things.

We haven't started talking about poisonous snakes,,,we have copperheads, rattlers, and cottonmouths...cottonmouths are the worst...very aggressive...

Hey, maybe Bond could come to the Ozarks...
