"Casino Royale" linen suits

I'm sure this question was answered before, but I can't seem to find it anywhere: were the navy and grey linen suits (accordingly from the bathroom fight scene and the Bahamas landing scene) also made by Brioni? The navy suits looks even like it has some satin finish like the Alfani shirt, the trousers seem to be darker also:

I'm almost certain the grey suit is Brioni but the blue suit is not. The blue suit doesn't have Brioni's cut, but I wouldn't say it looks as bad as an Alfani suit. Comparing it to Macy's house brand is quite an insult to whoever made it! The blue suit is indeed a suit, the light is just hitting the jacket and trousers differently. I have the costume card for the blue suit (which has a photo of Daniel Craig in the Dryden scene). See this photo for more accurate colours:

You're absolutely right, it's the same colour. Still wondering what brand it is however, it looks like a great suit for informal occasions and the warmer days as well. It seems that it's a two button jacket, which makes me believe it's not Brioni at all for sure (all the other suits worn in the movie were with three button jackets if I'm not mistaken).

I might have another question also: someone mentioned that the shirt worn underneath by Bond here is exactly the same as in the Bahamas sequence, just without epaulets. It looks like a linen shirt however on the picture above, any chance Magnoli could make a replica of it?

Is he wearing a black belt with (light) brown shoes? Now I know why they shot the sequence in blach and white :))

It's not the only time Daniel Craig's Bond makes this mistake!

Here's where sruzgar writes about the linen suits:

    http://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/32283/suit-fabrics-craig-era/

He can't reveal who made the blue suit, but it's not Brioni. He doesn't know who made the grey suit, but I think it's likely to be Brioni.

    Hi Matt

Cheers for confirming that!! More mysteries about CR then I thought!!

I also presumed grey suit Brioni.

Pity the PTS "casual" suit is filmed in black and white, looks good on him!

Simon's is not Brioni and not a brand...and the suit and shirt were made from the same source.

Will let Simon chime in from here if he likes...

It's a light blue and white end-on-end weave. My guess is that's it's a linen and cotton blend. Someone with better knowledge of fibres could look at the costume card under a microscope and tell the actual composition.

It's confusing since they put the wrong photo on it.

It was from a costumers to the film and TV industry. You can't buy them, and they don't like to be named publicly.

I've never spoken with them but I'm not sure they're trying to keep as quiet as they were a few years ago as they've branched out to weddings and bespoke tailoring for the public. They have expanded to a much larger website than a few years ago, and also a facebook page, both with pics from CR but of the Madagascar costume. Not exactly hiding in private.

Anyway, not my secret to reveal. As Simon posted in the linked thread, contact him for info or wait for him to chime in here.

Simon is not replying as for now, but I hope he finally will! :) Any info about the price of the suit by the way?

Judging from these photos posted by DGSE, the belt looks brown. You said so on your blog, too.

The Blue suit was cusom made form a blue Irish linen, the shirt is a cotton chambray blend and is the same as the Bahamas arrival shirt, I have both shirts and the blue linen suit made by the original costumer. They can probably still make the PTS suit and shirt but have no more fabric for the bahamas shirt.

The Grey Bahama suit was made by Brioni and is an unlined linen suit.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you very much!! It's weird however, because the blue shirt you posted does seem to have epaulets also?

    Wow great stuff Simon.

I knew you had the suit and shirt but did not realise you had the Bahamas arrival shirt also!!!!

I presumed the suit shirt was long sleeve so nice to see it properly!!!

Wish someone would replicate the Bahamas shirt properly. Magnoli looks nothing like it material wise

Ha - quick google and I also came up with Chris Kerr. Not interested in the suit but would have loved the Bahamas shirt!!!

I would also like to own the Bahamas shirt. Unfortunately the fabric of the Magnoli version isn't even close to the original one.

I had forgotten! Daniel Craig makes the black belt/brown shoes mistake with the grey linen suit, however.

    Grey suit was Brioni.

The white shirt is fantastic the material is very detailed, the owner of the company is close with Lindy Hemming and she found some left over fabric laying around and gave it to him to make the shirt.

    Hi,

Could you please tell me what kind of lining the blue linen suit has?
