What do you hope happens to the Bond games?

It's too quiet around here. Let's strike up a conversation.
Since it does seem like Activision no longer has the James Bond video game license, either by them giving it up or Eon taking it from them, what do you hope happens with the 007 games? Do you want another company to get it and mirror the Bond game after what they do best or would you want something else? Do you care if it's a first person shooter again, would you prefer third person? Movie based, or completely original?
Personally I think that if Eon wants to start making the Bond games good and really stand out instead of being like the summer months for games. Really crappy movie based games that are taken from the stock boxes and put right into the bargain bin, maybe they need to create a game division and do it themselves. Because no matter who else gets it, it WILL be mirrored off of what that company is known for.
Which on one hand may not be too bad, but on the other hand it will just be compared to the source game and ripped to shreds by the purists for those games. For example Bioware, it would alomst certainly be a clone of Mass Effect, a good idea in theory, but the purists, who already feel betrayed by Bioware from what happened with ME3 (don't ask what happened, I have not played the 3rd one yet) so for sure they would shred the game.
So what do you feel should happen?

First they need to decide if the Bond games and movies should be in continuity. Because for some Bond movies it will work and others it won't. I think Goldeneye is the only example of when the movie game works in continuity. But this should be like how DC TV is different from DC movies, that's the way Bond games should be. Just like the Bond books are different and only elements might show up in the movies.
Then they need to make good Bond games. Not based on what's popular and shoehorn Bond into that. Because that rarely works well.
Have a game come out every off Bond movie year. Most won't like this and think it misses the cross promotion with the movie. But it's different. Make it third person as you should see Bond. Try to have the scripted elements be more natural. So it's actually a good game and not a scripted game movie. Hire people that like the Bond series. I've said it before but that FRWL game was a horrible miss and people who really like Bond and videogames would do a lot better than that.
As for the N64 TWINE, in the same vein as GE64, it did a really good job of keeping as close to the story as possible, the one bad part is the bad voice acting, but other than that, it was really good!

Failing that, if they can't make a shooter up to par with Everything or Nothing or the n64 Goldeneye, I'd like a new format. I suggested something akin to Just Cause in another thread.

You know what I miss the most? The co-op split screen with bots. That is what we all grew up playing. Why not spread it to this generation? An updated Nightfire maybe or an updated Agent Under Fire. Both phenomenal games I grew up with.
They already ruined the revamped Goldeneye. They might as well reinvent themselves with a revamp of Nightfire or Agent Under Fire.
Just my 2 cents.

[*]Non Call of Duty Like- Goldeneye Reloaded and 007 Legends basically copied Call of Duty which is a no no. I'm trying to get away from that style of gameplay and I'd imagine quite a few others are trying also. I'm not saying make it 3rd person, but try and develop a new engine that does not copy Call of Duty. Make the game feel sort of how NightFire felt with slightly updated controls.[/*]
[*]Emphasis on Split Screen- I would love to be able to play the campaigne with a buddy, if not that, then separate co-op missions will do. I would also love to have bots in multiplayer. I could care less about online, I think the fun in a Bond game is playing with a buddy next to you.[/*]
[*]Do not base it off a movie. Limits surprises and limits what you can do.[/*]
[*]Do not make him a mass murderer, he is a secret agent![/*]
[*]Do not rush the game. This is a big reason 007 Legends sucked! AI was stupid and the load times were horrendous![/*]
[*]Non Linear- too often games nowadays just have you shooting and following tunnel like structures to your next objective.[/*]

Even though the titles published by Activision were mostly great (QoS, GE, BS, Legends being OK at best), poeple didn't really care for them. EA did a terrific job. TWINE, AUF, NF, EoN, (even FRWL IMHO) were all great, and we need a return to the variety; a bit of shooting, a bit of melee combat, a bit of driving, a but of on-rails, even maybe gambling section like in the films (only a few games have attempted the gambling). We also need excellent writing and a star cast, something that BS did beautifully. While it had great TPS and driving gameplay, I think there was a bit too much shooting. Don't get me wrong, it was extremely fun and never really boring, but you'd think there'd be more of a cinematic focus in a Bond game.
If BS had less shooting and (dare I say) was maybe only a few hours long on the first run, I think it would be even better and more unique since it would literally be like playing a Bond movie. Sure you could probably blast through the game in a few hours, but in the movies Bond doesn't really shoot this many people. BS's problem was, like I said, too much shooting. The rest of the game was extremely cinematic, but the over-abundance of shooting took away from the potential it had to probably be the most cinematic action game ever produced. I think if a developer made what BS was but beatable in a few hours, then I think there'd be cinematic Bond game gold. The only problem is reviewers calling it too short. Then with a quick single player, there'd be tons of time and resources left over for a masterful multiplayer component.
So why the change of heart between the two games? I mean, I don't care for 007 Legends either, but not for the typical reasons given.
