I recently went to the Bond In Motion exhibit in Covent Garden (highly recommend it), and saw two lovely Ken Adam pictures I really thought were cool. Does anyone know if these are available anywhere to buy?
I looked for the bottom one a couple of years ago and drew a blank, unfortunately. I even sent a letter to EON suggesting that they have it reproduced as a limited edition lithograph personally signed by Sir Ken Adam - with the money going to charity, if need be. But no response.
I believe that the DB5 photos are in Dave Worrall's book "The Most Famous Car In The World>"
There is also a book on Ken Adam "Designing Bond" or similar, that may have those photos.
Cheers, Tom
There's also Ken Adam: The Art of Production Design and The Worlds of Ken Adam, among others. Both illustrations appear in one or more of these books. I couldn't tell you which but the illustrations in at least one of the books would hold-up to enlargement.
EON have done some prints but only ever non-Adam work, I think, like the costumes from GE.
The Serpentine Gallery offered prints of Adam's avant-garde on-set photos when they exhibited his work back in '97 (?).
Does anyone have the Ken Adam Designs the Movies book and can comment on the book and if it’s worth buying?
I’m interested as it has some lovely images, but it’s a hefty price second hand on Amazon or eBay.
I have it and yes, absolutely worth getting, though not at the prices I just saw on Amazon.
I seem to recall ordering direct from the publisher or something.
I suspect a shop specializing in books on film or design might be less.
