Having recently been looking on Google at different images from Moonraker I.think I might have stumbled upon a still that the following from what might have been a deleted scene from the movie.

I know we can't post stills from the film online - so here's a link to my website where I've just posted the photo in question:

If you can throw any light onto what the photo is then please contact me via the ways mentioned in the article or post a reply to this topic.

Thanks.

Given the Gun he's holding, My guess ( And that's all it is :)) ) is that it's a Publicity shot for the film
Maybe it wasn't used, as it's not a great photo. :D

I agree with Pussy, it looks like a "while we have the opportunity, the crew are resetting" spur of the moment publicity shot.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Yeah, most likely a promo photo. Maybe an early version of the script had a gun fight instead of the knife throwing ?

Is that the same S&W 29 .44 Magnum Sir Rog used in LALD?

No, it is a different Model 29 since has a blued finish, in Live and Let Die the Model 29 Bond uses has a nickel plated finish.

Agreed on this as an on-location shot for potential use in publicity, with no intended connection with the specific set-up of the gondola sequence.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

That photo was taken the same day they shot the actual scene, so it's highly unlikely they were improvising different ways of shooting it (with gun, with knife...). Specially if it was shot in Venice as it appears to be.

Nice Roger Moore still though. Reminds me of the Eiffel Tower stills from AVTAK, which are some of my favourites Bond images. Actually, the only Bond image I could find back in the 80s was one of those, and I had it in my teen bedroom. I also had the AVTAK, TLD and LTK posters!
