The Bond movie you put on most frequently vs. the one you 'save'

I have my go-to Bond that I will groove to in nearly any mood, and the one I save for just the right mood.
They are TND & LTK, respectively.

You all know what I mean. So what are yours?

Then, let's maybe discuss why/specifics... -{
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

    GoldenEye is the film I put in most, with pretty much any of the older movies being 'saved'.

    For GoldenEye, it was the first Bond film I had ever seen, yes because of the N64 game. But it really is a good story, it really has a nice flow to the story.

    The only thing I have "against" the older films is my lack of money for the Blu ray set and an Xbox One to watch them on, as I really don't feel like messing with VHS any more, I HAVE the older movies, but only on VHS.

    Two side notes. For one I was going to make a thread for it but it will probably be answered quickly so here it is:

    First one: I wonder how many fans my age, I'm 29, became fans of 007 because of the Nintendo 64 release of GoldenEye 007?

    Second one: I wonder what the set will be? What about a normal DVD version of the 50th Anneversary set, but call it something else since it won't be the 50th during that film. Also, include Skyfall. Just a thought.

    I can sort of see what you're getting at.

    I can watch Diamonds are Forever in basically any mood. It's a guilty pleasure and as a stand alone Bond adventure does the job so to speak. The one I save... On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I like to watch the ones before and wait to lead up to it.

    I always "save" OHMSS, for when I have a few hours to myself -{
    Other times for something I can drift in and out of, ... TSWLM or
    LALD. -{

    Yeah, you do. DAF is a perfect hit & run Bond to put on. And I expected many to 'save' OHMSS for a private time or special moment. OHMSS was my second choice behind LTK. I can't just throw either of them on without proper preparation, emotionally speaking.

    Without a doubt, the one I put on the most frequently is FYEO. To me it’s just the perfect blending of all my favorite elements – the intriguing and fascinating spy story, the great locales (Greece being my favorite location of anywhere in the Bond films), a great leading lady, terrific heavy, a FANTASTIC ally in Colombo, and a series of terrific action sequences which all actually fit the story. It has three main problems – the silly opening with “Blofeld,” Bibi Dahl, and the first half of the music score (the second half is quite good) – but I overlook them. It is certainly not the best in the series, but it’s my personal favorite.

    Great pick. But what Bond do you save for special occasions?

    Oh yeah, I only answered half the question, didn’t I? :))

    Special occasions is definitely OHMSS. In my opinion, it’s the best of the series, so in theory you’d think I would watch it most often, but... something about it begs to be savored.

    The Bond I put on most is YOLT because for me it's the most fun. For special occasions it's GF so I can enjoy the experience of Bond done to perfection.

    I've been saving the Dalton films because it's a been awhile since I've seen them, I want to see really how they hold up against the others

    YOLT was probably my second choice after Diamonds

    There are a number of Bond films that I'll watch at any given time, but more recently, the one I'll frequently watch is Live and Let Die. Great cast, great theme song... time, sadly, has not been very kind to Roger Moore's initial effort as 007; I think it's the very best entry from Hamilton/Mankiewicz and the second-best film of the Moore era (right under TSWLM, no less). Producers took the right steps in distancing Moore from Connery, and the film itself is a wonderfully pulpy -- albeit taboo -- thrill ride from start to finish. For me, it's also the only Bond that I find genuinely funny.

    The one I'll save is The Spy Who Loved Me, in which case I'll usually preface any screening with "this is my favourite James Bond movie ever" and subsequently attempt to convince close friends that it stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the best of the Bonds (From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, OHMSS, etc. etc). Spy represents everything I could ever want in a Bond movie and I'd hate to ever get tired of watching it repeatedly.

    Seems like an odd statement to make considering everything else you wrote about LALD was overwhelming positive.

    I feel the same way as you about TSWLM. -{
    My current 10 favorite:

    Oh I should have specified; I love the hell out of LALD, but as of late it seems like fewer fans regard it as a classic, predominantly due to the awkward racial dynamic & "dated" style. Time and general consensus seems to frown on it, but for me it's one of the best Bond films of all time, and if not for the disproportionate cruelty directed at Octopussy, I'd consider LALD to be the most underrated entry in the series.
