Ltk - if not just for a good story and some great action - the submarine dock scene and the wet dress - yay

OP, good story with great action, sure it has a couple
of silly scenes but it seems to take a lot of flak, but I
    like it. :))

AVTAK which is also the most underrated in the series. Brilliant action, wonderful locations, and the best main villain of the series.

Agreed! A right nutter if ever there was one. Love how he explains to Howe his plan to frame Bond and Stacey for his murder, right before he kills him.

For Your Eyes Only. I think it's one that gets a raw deal. A View to a Kill close second. I think the Dalton films are sufficiently ranked because it has its fans and detractors. Octopussy is usually retty well regarded too. And FYEO isn't usually in peoples top tens and I really enjoy it.

FYEO - not in my top ten, but definitely my top Roger Moore Bond film.

features one of the best moments of Moore's tenure. Glad the car kick was kept in, even though Moore was against it.

FYEO is probably my second favourite Roger film.

If we are talking official then I would say one of the Dalton movies since it seems like people forget about them. If non official then I would include Never Say Never Again. It's not better than Thunderball. But it's Connery and a better final movie from him than Diamonds are Forever.

Some times I think For Your Eyes Only is a bit overrated. I like the movie but people always say it is Moore's serious title. I think there is silly stuff in FYEO just like in Moore's other entries.

For Your Eyes Only. Just misses out on my top 10, but to me, it is by far Roger Moore's best Bond film.

I think the most underrated is TLD.
It has a perfect blend of the outrageous (like TB) and the uber-serious (like CR).
Of course, that Dalton's two are my top two may make me a bit subjective here... :))
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

I think in recent years both the Dalton films have been much more appreciated, rightly so to a point.
I enjoy FYEO but I feel Moore's Bond here is 007 behaving like an old man whereas I prefer OP and ocassionally AVTAK more because he is more of an old man behaving like 007. Both films I feel are unfairly ridiculed.

Sorry but there's so many! Both of Dalton's entries are harshly overlooked because most people don't give him a chance as Bond. Both very different films with a different feel but both equally brilliant.

Of the Moore entries I would say FYEO is the most underrated. Again I would say it doesn't get the praise it deserves due to it's darker feel (sandwiched between two more lighter films in MR and OP). Moore puts in his most convincing performance to date, the women are stunning and the villains are great without being OTT. Also Columbo is best ally since Kerim Beye. What's not to love?

I can't think of a more unfairly maligned Bond film in the 80's -- let alone the entire Bond franchise -- than Octopussy. This essay I wrote for the #Bond_age_ social media project on Twitter says everything you need to know: http://www.007hertzrumble.com/favorite-bond_age_-octopussy-adam-slusar/

AVTAK, totally underrated. Granted, Moore is old, but just imagine it for a second with a 38 year old Timothy Dalton. It could have very well been his first. The film would become one of the best IMO. Great villain, good plot, Grace Jones, great title song, amazing John Barry score, great locations, good PTS.

I love TLD, but I don't think it's underrated. I don't read about it what I read about LTK or AVTAK.

FYEO has become overrated. So has the car-kicking scene. As a RM fan I would consider FYEO his worst performance as 007.

Any 80's Bond film other than FYEO is definitely underrated. Including NSNA.

If I had to pick one it would be AVTAK. As Virgil37 pointed out, AVTAK is actually very good film and hardly deserving to be considered the worst Bond of all.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

It is an oddity that Goldfinger is considered one of the Best Bond films.
While AVTAK ( which is basically a copy ) is considered ( by many)
as one of the worst. :)) I'm not agreeing, just pointing it out. ;) l

All of the 80's is underrated in my book. Many see it as the low point in the series when it was running out of steam. I couldn't disagree more. OP while it had some cringeworthy moments, also took the series to new heights with the stunts. TLD and LTK were a great changeup that crowds just weren't ready for yet.

I don't see the similarities myself between GF and AVTAK, really, apart from the scene where Zorin explains his plot, then kills one of the investors.

It's got the villain with horses and the explaining his plan
Before killing one of his guests. With his plan being not
To steal anything but rater destroying something he already
Has a lot of, so increasing its value.
I'm not saying it's a remake just that it has many similarities. :D

The plots are similar, but IMO that's hardly a reason to deem it a "rip-off". By that logic, TSWLM is a rip-off of YOLT, and MR a rip-off of TSWLM, and so on...
