The Naval base at Faslane. I was there just prior to the shooting of the above scene- after a talk in a committee room (totally unlike what was seen in TSWLM) we were taken onboard one of the subs for a tour.

One of the most iconic Bond scenes imo.
Totally jealous hat you have witnessed the shooting but well deserved! {[]

With regards to the thread today on NSNA , it reminded me that i have stood /hung around the spot in NSNA where Bond meets Rowan Atkinson ,in Nassau in the Bahamas , it was dam hot that day and the colonade afforded some welcome shade ,Its a shame looking back on my Bahama trip ,as i wasnt such a big Bond fan ,like i am now ,so i didnt really take a lot of notice of the Bond locations ,But now ,when i watch Casino Royale (we was there when they was filming it ) i did wonder why i was getting strange looks now i think about it :)) i was 40 then , and just glad to be able to afford that Bahamian holiday
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

I went to Circus Circus and even played the Water Balloons. I won a stuffed penguin who I named Felix, after Mr Leiter.

After reading the thread on Bond locations I would like to add my 'visits' to locations where the films were made.
The wife is not always happy as it some times involves a bit of a trudge to get to them so it can involve a bit of a trade off.

    You are so right Thunderpussy!!

Nothing will ever top The Sound of Music for me. Julie Andrews means everything to me.

And of course my pose is meant to be that fantastic open arms gesture of Julie. But with a Bond background :)) :))

I was lucky enough to have been in Jamaica at the time I think coincides with the Dr No story.Passed the North Shore locations a few times.Remember one sunday, end of April beginning of May 1949,a visit to Dunn river falls.A trip organised by my girl friend at the time, and myself.Five beautiful white girls, and five army personnel.Strictly no alchohol.(their parents decision)It was what was termed an introduction party..The area was deserted all that Sunday we were there, except for one couple way down the other end of the beach. So a deserted beach, with Bond the only occupant, was realistic..The road,as described by Fleming, was mainly unsealed, all the way from the turning onto the coast road after Moneague till reaching the outskirts of Montego Bay.If one passed more than two vehicles during that stretch,it was unusual.I do however disagree with the type of white female as represented by Ryder, and the circumstances of her meeting with Bond.I doubt it could happen in reality.

Well, in my first year of university, I lived on Staircase 8 at New College, where Bond supposedly banged his Danish professor in TND. Nice view but the stairs are a complete pain when you have to drag your stuff up several flights.

There are just a few issues with TND's scenario:
    1) Danish isn't taught at Oxford.
    2) Only students live in the New Buildings, professors live on the other side of college.
    3) The overhead shot of "New College" is actually Brasenose and the Rad Cam.

Would appreciate advice on two locations.

Seriously thinking of visiting Malta this year, aware no Bond films are acknowledged of actually being filmed on the island but, keep on reading different references that island locations have been used. Can any one advise what Bond films they are and where the scene locations were filmed on the island?.

I have previously been to Gibraltar and think I located the scene locations, using screen shots from The Living Daylights but, does any one know of the actual scene locations - road names etc. Knowing the actual locations would reduce walking distances, my wife is not keen on repeating it where necessary. Any advice would be appreciated as it has taken a lot of preplanning to get my wife to even start thinking of a revisit Gibraltar.

Thank you Number 24, now amended.

Update: Four day trip to Gibraltar now booked for mid March. Will be going to all the main must see locations and prepping research for Bond locations but would appreciate any local knowledge if any one can help.

Thoroughly enjoyed our short Gibraltar stay as I was able to see and locate the planned visit areas of The Living Daylights that were filmed on the Upper Rock Nature Reserve.

Using maps and some reference photos to align locations was slightly hindered by the changing landscape of tree and vegetation but, most film location structures have mostly remained as filmed and once found were easy to recognise. It was a joy to find them and part of that enjoyment is the admiration for the director and film crew who were able to produce a slick fast moving PTS in a fairly small area.

Any one else planning to go, would recommend maybe first using one of the Official Tour guides as the similar sounding area names and locations can cause confusion if asking for directions once you are there, also options and circumstances always change, and most tourist roadways on the Upper Rock are one way and narrow, meaning there is no going back.

Unfortunately, but understandably essential for all, was the safety barrier maintenance work being undertaken by workmen who were replacing whole lengths of handrailing in two of my planned locations, I was able to get reasonable photos but might just have to make another visit to get better ones.

I will be spending the upcoming week attending D-Day celebrations.

Since I'm having some time off before Thursday, I thought that I'd visit the possible location of the Royale les Eaux.

Not strictly a film Bond location, but very much part of the lore in anycase.

Quoting Peppermill: The Bibliography (2012) states that the town is based on the coastal towns of Deauville, just south of Le Havre, and Le Touquet.
