Me too, but I watche both GE & TND in September very close together, and yeah, GE has a LOT of great stuff in it, it's just TND just flows along so seamlessly... the silly is bare minimum (no Boreeesss or Christmas jokes or Yo Momma), and one of the Best Bond girls ever!
I remenber leaving the cinema after watching it for the
first time, and felt great. Thought it was well up to standard
even thought, this must have been how it felt watching
Bond in the 60s.
It also has a few really great ideas. I love driving the car with
his phone from the backseat -{ . Along with pulling the knife
out of Stamper to free himself. ) It's two hours of pure
entertainment. {[] I even like the Bike chase.

I have much affection for TND because it came along at a time when I was experiencing enormous problems and stress both personally and professionally. For two hours I was taken away from all that by enjoying TND and I admit I may overrate it ever so slightly.
Yes- thanks TP, I forgot to mention that! After the dreary Serra score for GE, Arnold's TND was a breath of fresh air and demonstrated that he was the right man to replace John Barry.
I too prefer Samantha Bond, she was a fantastic Moneypenny. -{
Am I the ONLY one in love with Caroline Bliss' Moneypenny..? ?:)
I thought Bliss came across as a mousy librarian, which is not how I envision Moneypenny. While she yearns for Bond, she doesn't pine for him like a teenage girl pines for a pop star. Only my opinion though, which can often be obtuse!
For the record I still enjoy Bliss in the role. Just thought she could have been so much more. And that is no knock on the actress. Quite the contrary, I think she had the ability if given the opportunity to be fantastic. Dalton's films had a lot less screentime for the Mi6 regulars like M, Moneypenny, and the Minister of Defence, who were all quite prominent through the Moore era. Q is the only one to get an expanded role in LTK. Not a knock on either of Dalton's film or his era at all, as I quite enjoyed them and both rank near or in my top 10. Just a different approach.
Her hair is so much better here than when she had it pulled back in a pony tail during the brief Q scene.
Count me in with the Caroline Bliss camp.
However in that video interview with Lois Maxwell, it seems more to be a catfight between 2 actresses owning the same role and not being happy about the other's claim.

GE is just an average Bond movie.
Samantha Bond was a better Moneypenny than Lois Maxwell.
BMW was the wrong car for Bond.
Charles Gray and Donald Pleasence should have swapped parts in YOLT.

) X-( Not with Alec it ain't. Toss up for me. Neither were the perfection of Caroline Bliss. Agreed. That might have been interesting... ?:)

It's unfortunate because she came across as quite charming and looked great at the TLD premiere seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWLg5knlXXs#t=1860
