Casino Royale Dryden's Office Chairs

I was rewatching Casino Royale a couple days ago and noticed the chairs in Dryden's Prague office. I was hoping one of you could help identify them.

I saw an article about these chairs (which were recently redesigned) within the last couple months which mentioned that they were used quite often in film and tv, but I don't remember where I saw the article. I thought they were good looking chairs. It wasn't until rewatching Casino Royale that I learned of the Bond connection.

Thanks in advance.

They're de Sede office chairs, available with and without either headrest or arms. Quite expensive: in the US they can run USD $5K.

They've appeared throughout the franchise, most clearly in Graves' office in DAD:

Very much want one for myself; unlike Eames and some others, there doesn't seem to be a knock-off on the market.

Thanks. I greatly appreciate it. It's been bugging me since I can't recall where I read about the chairs.

Now that I know the chair, a web search shows that apparently one sold on ebay.co.uk in January for £350.

It's the first one that's turned up in about 5 years and that one there was a weld broken on it

No but I was at work, where the reception is rubbish and tried to bid in the last couple of seconds but it didn't go through in time :(

When desede stuff normally comes up it is normally way over priced.

I'll get one soon just waiting for the euro to get better :)

I also saw that eBay listing but at the time had no point of reference so failed to comprehend what a screaming bargain it was. <sigh>

I just found a March, 2013 eBay listing for one of the chairs. It went unsold. Opening asking price was US$1295 + $350 shipping. (Item was in Switzerland).

I know everything related to Bond is fantasy with ridiculously expensive cars, clothes, hotels, etc., but I get a laugh out of the thought that Dryden's office had over $20,000 in chairs alone. The man didn't need to sell secrets, he could have sold the furniture. :))

    LOL!

Very often when I see the sets getting blown-up I find myself thinking things like "wow, they just torched a hundred Grand in furniture."

"M doesn't mind you selling furniture, Dryden, she just prefers you set reasonable reserves and BINs."

I bet someone at AJB could make these chairs!

now that is tempting - are there enough interests ???

I have a hard time thinking that by the time anyone is done making a dozen of them, the price wouldn't be about the same as an original (or so close you might as well spend the extra $500 or whatever). A knock-off Eames chair is still in the thousands and those are a simpler design. And then there's shipping ...

That said, yes, I am seriously looking for a de Sede so if someone could came in cheap enough ...

Something I just caught looking at the "Dryden" scene. The skyline in the background is not Prague. Not a big deal just never caught it before.

Not only that, Bill, but the color is wrong in that scene. :))

And speaking of replica props--anyone ever hear from the fellow at CBN who had closely photographed the Skyfall deer than wanted to make bronzed replicas? I would be in for, like, five of those suckers...
