The most interesting Dalton fact I've read in a long time came from "The Making Of The Living Daylights" - we've all heard that LD was a Roger script that had to be rewritten when Dalton came on board, but in fact changing the tone of 007 films had been a strong idea (probably Michael G Wilson's) for a while, and the script was NOT created with Roger in mind.

The other thing I'd like to mention is that when I asked my wife who would win in a fight: Dalton's Bond or Connery's Bond, she unhesitatingly said, "Dalton's!". I'm not certain about that, but by God I'd like to watch it happening!

As much as I enjoyed Dalton's turn, even though they did not give him Bond's dark 00 side until the second film, I can't picture him in any of the CR scenes had they made Craig's films exactly as they were done but during Dalton's time. I have no problem with him in the SF scenes, though. It's because in CR Craig comes across as a youthful, energetic character who may be a veteran but not yet a seasoned one, whereas Dalton seemed more like the character in SF - too mature in years to be barked at by Dench as if he were a cadet.
