Phantastic writeup on the watch in my favorite watch page!

It's absolutely mindblowing how Apple designed the thing - with clearly the help of the Ikepod guy but the attention to detail such as the metal bracelet, folding clasp etc will put some heat under the executive seats in Japan and Switzerland.
As a smartwatch it disappoints me - particularly the short running time and the pathetic mag charging plug - but there are many good 'watch' elements presented.

Rather than futuristic. I keep thinking of Dick Tracy. )
Would the eye implant be the " i patch" )
But certain elements are so good and well- thought and that puts some product managers in established watch companies to shame!
I wonder how long they really have been working on that project!
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
I have heard in one TV report that they did involve some
Of the "Fashion" world in the design stage, so it would look
Beautiful and would go with any outfit.
For a start the tech isn't quite there anyhow - your slaved to also have the iPhone on you if you wish to wear the watch out and about. I would rather just take out my iPhone and do the functions on a nice touchscreen with no limitations or the hassle of using the smaller interface and restrictions.
The iPhone was mind blowing when launched
The iPad was not necessary but blew mobile computing apart, how many people ditched laptops for iPads etc industries use them for demos and kids and people like my mum who are scared of laptops / operating systems love them.
The iWatch does what the Samsung smart watch does but a hell of a lot better etc however there is nothing to make me want one at all, especially if I'm carrying my phone anyhow which you have to do. I would rather wear my wristwatch and my iPhone in my pocket then the iPhone and Smart phone combo. Its a lot of duplication with no benefit in my eyes.
Also its strange to see Apple preview a product which will not get launched for another 5 months. Im guessing this is due to Sony and Samsung beating them to the market so they had to get something out there since the public knew it was in the works for years and getting inpatient. I imagine by the time this thing is released, Samsung and co would have nicked the best bits from the keynote and will have updated their versions.
Im sure it will be a huge success and sell by the bucketload but I dont think the tech is ready and what its accomplishing is redundant at the moment until you can magically switch between the phone sims somehow (virtually not physically)
Exactly...only geeks and people with too much money will buy them...also it's too expensive...and will date too quickly...would you rather wear a Rolex/Omega or an iWatch ? I just don't see them selling enough of them...but the 'fitness' side of it could work...
Funnily enough the fitness aspect is what would have tempted me however all the rumours and fuss about this was going to be some huge revolutionary fitness gadget never really happened. I think it was a very brief section right at the end of the keynote!
Will stick to my Sub and my iPhone in my pocket!!
i was hoping for an Apple TV App Store to unlock gaming etc on the TV for the kids lol (and big kids)
As somebody who spends his working day on the iPhone I'm tempted by the big one but unsure if it will fit in my pocket and be a pain!! Maybe it would replace my iPad mini at same time
Wonder if We'll see Bond wearing one in Bond 24 ?
Love the new 12" Macbook design, sexy indeed but sadly more power in a Viagra pill.
The fitness aspect got me interested too but its major flaw in this department for me (as somebody who does a lot of swimming and triathlon) is that it's not waterproof. I'll stick with my Garmin watch for now.
I think Smartwatches will catch on and are here to stay but as one report interestingly pointed out yesterday, these companies need to get young people around to the idea of actually wearing a watch! So many kids don't now and never have. They just use their phone to tell the time.
Anyway, time will tell..
Well I don't give fig, I think it has apeel, and there is a segment of people who will blow a raspberry at this watch, but I think it is just sour grapes and that gives me the pip.

One of those odd watch collectors saying that the likes of Rolex
Was " a bit of eternity " on your wrist. His watch had been his fathers
And he would pass it on to his own son.
He said he'd doubt if you could do that with the apple watch, or even
Repair it in100 years time, where as his mechanical watch could.
Are you taking the pith
I reckon TP can think of some Ways to pass the Time )
