Either way it goes Scotland is going to get a lot more powers for running itself.
Meaning soon both N.Ireland and Wales, will want more powers for their parliaments
Cornwall will probably push for a parliament or council of some sort, along with other
Regions of the UK. Leading to a Federal union of sorts. Hopefully this might be the
Kick in the a*se the politicians need to start doing a bit of work helping the Country,
Instead of milking it.

Confused we are not. Most everyone is very clear and willing to go on at great length to explain their position, unswayed by the media frenzy.
And it's Salmond, SM, not Samond.
Sorry, Barbel. That was a typo after a ten hour shift to midnight. And I was not implying the Scottish people were bamboozled, just that I was rather confused about Salmond's backtracking from his usual nationalistic utterances to welcome a Queen of Scots.

No worries, SM.
Am at present gigging in a bar on the west coast, and it's buzzing with political talk. Planning to stay up late tonight to see what happens, though I may fall asleep before they know.
I just hope to God they've done the right thing and voted to remain in the Union. I even prayed about it earlier today in fact! But this is a matter for Scotland itself to decide, not outsiders. We must respect whatever decision is made.

Well that's good going counting all those votes, as I'm sure SM knows over here
It takes days, ( we're always last to give results in the UK) ) absolutely SM this is
Up to the Scottish -{ Although as one teen pointed out in a discussion programme
The politicians should be asking themselves how badly have they've let people down
When almost half the population have to be persuaded to stay !!!

My biggest hope is that whatever the result, the vote itself hasn't irreparably damaged Scottish society. There's so much animosity, anger, vitriol and even hatred between some members on each side towards everyone on the other, that regardless of the outcome I really do hope that life can return to normal once the results have been announced.
Furthermore, if the result is 'No' - no matter how narrow it might be - I do hope we don't see another referendum on the subject for at least two decades. And, if the result is 'Yes', I hope Tunnock's snowballs are exempt of any new export duty or taxes!

Yes, Northern Ireland makes the headlines for all of the wrong reasons when it comes to elections - they used to not count votes at the weekend until very recently and they certainly don't employ enough staff to count the votes. We have a PR system for Stormont and local government elections which complicates matters even further. All of that said, I hope that things run smoothly for all in the count in Scotland tonight and into tomorrow morning. -{

Agreed, he was very good. To be honest if the No vote wins. It will be Inspite
Of those running it. Not because of them
Yes, they should have had the easier job of the two camps but as the Tories have no presence in Scotland not (only one Tory Westminster MP) it was wise to head the "No" campaign with Alistair Darling and Gordon Brown who gave their utmost. -{

I think they sat back, thought it was a done deal. Should of had a bit
More passion earlier, instead of all the economic stats, to put people
To sleep.

Yes, their complacency was knocked aside when the "Yes" camp narrowed the gap and even looked to be ahead. I only hope that some of those who said they would vote "Yes" have a Damascus style conversion in the polling booth and think better of their folly. )

"FBI? CIA? ... SNP?"
"No... British intelligence!"
That would have been my (DAF-themed) post if the 'No' vote wins, but to be honest I'm not going to be staying up late enough to find out tonight, so I thought I'd get it in early!
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Very glad and relieved that Scotland voted to stay in the 307 year old Union. Now for Devolution Max as their reward. Wales and Northern Ireland can expect the same. We're better together. -{

not sure if that's accurate.

Night I stayed up to watch Michael Portillo getting sacked. )
They're talking about an announcement in the early hours of the morning but we should know for sure by breakfast time news tomorrow morning.
